Choi Chang Yup has admitted to his drug usage charges.

His lawyers told Xports News, "Choi Chang Yup is being held at the Seoul Southern Police District for using philopon in May. He has admitted to all charges, and his prosecution will be at the earliest next week. He feels sorry for all his charges, and we are looking for a light sentence because it is his first offense and he has not returned. When non-celebrities get punished with philopon usage, all they get is the criminal sentence. However, when celebrities get punished, they cannot promote for the next 6-7 years and it is hard for them to make a living. We will be asking them to take that into account."

The actor was arrested in September for injecting the illegal drug philopon at his house located in Sillim-dong, Seoul. It's also reported that he was found to have injected the drug back in May with peers in Gangnam.

I don't know how you administer this drug but shooting up seems a bit extreme. When you go straight for the vein you ain't playing around.

I am SHOCKED! He always seemed like a nice guy. Never the kind who would do drugs. I liked him since The Challenger on KBS. Very sad.

Shin Dongyup, G Dragon, Iron, Bom, Joo Jihoon, all had drug scandals, I don't know who this dude is but I'm not going to judge him over this.

the guys you mentioned are actually talented? this guy always has minor supporting roles. bom is different though, hers was medical. joo jihoon kind of faded he lost his popularity since Princess Hours drama, he's only famous for dating Ga In now

There was a guy in Secret Garden who played the minor role of an aspiring artist, I wonder where he is now? Oh and this other guy who had a just a cameo in Bridal mask... hmm wonder about him too. Probably disappeared off the face of the earth lol cause there is no way actors who played supporting or minor roles can become famous.

YOU need to get out. Did that not make clear the first time? and stop embarrassing my country with your false statements oh-I'm-seoul-university-student. Student's at that university aren't like you. such a disgrace you are.

Well if you knew that you can't promote for 6-7 years, then you shouldn't have done it from the start. It's just that simple. Have accountability for your actions or don't even do it if you're not prepared to do so.

your acting as if it is wrong for people to make mistakes. OK he did something wrong but if regrets it and is sorry about it then that's a different story. seriously, let people learn from their mistakes

If he took it in May and then in September then it's not the first time, this is the second time actually. And even if he gets a light sentence he won't be able to promote for a while and he will be forgotten untill he gets back into the limelight and netizens mention his drug use again. Just look at Park Bom, seriously. If a known celebrity under a big company hasn't been able to promote for two years, what was he thinking really? What a dumbass.

Bom's case was even justified many times. She was using perscribed drugs by her US doctor to cure her depression and stress disorder she gained after experiencing her classmate's death when she was studying in US. And yet still she hasn't been able to promote ever since.
