According to various music industry insiders, Psy is even closer to setting up his very own independent label, called PSYG (pronounced P-S-Y-G).

Psy, who's been planning to establish his label for quite some time, is finally fulfilling his dream! Reportedly, the singer completed the process of legally registering his label this past June.

PSYG will operate much like HIGHGRND and The Black Label, independent yet still affiliated to and a subsidiary of YG.

Congrats to Psy, and all the best of luck; we're happy that his dream is realized!

I'm excited to see what he'll do with this freedom!

YG is smart. I know there are a lot of rappers who hate YG's system but YG allows their artists to set up their own label and promote under a different system if they want. I bet GD will launch his own label in a few years too

I suppose this means that PSY will be evaluating 'New Talent' to sign for his PSYG Label. I will  guess that PSY invests some money. And he gets to 'use' the YGe Agency 'pull' to like 'piggy back' his New Acts, at least for awhile. Actually, it seems a pretty good idea overall. Of course, it all hinges on whether PSY is a good judge of New Talent.
