Actress Jung Hye Sung has been the center of praise lately for her latest role in the drama 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds', but how long does it really take for her to transform into Myung Eun?

According to a representative of her makeup and costume team, it takes her a whole 4 and a half hours! Two of those are spent on gluing artificial skin made of silicon onto her face, her neck, and her hands, while the rest of the time goes toward fitting her into a body suit under her hanbok plus her skin makeup and hair!

The representative stated, "The artificial skin, made by molding silicon over a cast of Jung Hye Sung, is made of a soft texture to help it move with the muscles of the face, so it's impossible to reuse. Which is why our team goes through the long process of making the material again each time."

The rep had some comments about Jung Hye Sung, who "endures it well even though because the weather is hot, it must be 2-3 times more bothersome. She also barely eats during filming because if you eat, the artificial skin becomes raised."

While viewers find Jung Hye Sung's character Myung Eun totally adorable, the staff seem to want Myung Eun to lose her weight in the drama soon "so Hye Sung can be more comfortable."

Did you catch the first two episodes of 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds'?

Shit no wonder she looked familiar. I mean I knew her fat wasn't real I just couldn't put my finger on who the actress was but now I see lol. I really like this drama right now. I love it when historical dramas don't take theme selves too seriously. I mean sungkyunkwan scandal was hoot. Definitely recommend this drama right now.

either way she's still way prettier than me lmao 😂 well done for enduring it love you x

Omg she turned into Eunha, if Eunha was a bit chubbier

There's no chubby actress or actors in South Korea. So much effort to make her fatter. She's so cute

thisonegirl melon Thursday, August 25, 2016

The character in the drama will lose her weight, so it makes sense to cast Jung Hye Sung and see her transformation later in the plot.

She's gonna lose all her weight later in the drama so they needed somebody slim.

HonestAlpaca Thursday, August 25, 2016

Omg she is adorable

bassbambi Thursday, August 25, 2016

Meanwhile I don't understand why they couldn't find a chubby actress.Like we have seen cemedian women to be a bit chubby, some of them might be good at acting given the chance. Why don't we let those shine, so people would actually see that a really live not xxs person can look adorable and beautiful ...ugh...

veronicavivian bassbambi Thursday, August 25, 2016

I don't think you read the whole article otherwise you would know she is supposed to lose weight later on in the drama, which is why they cast slim actresses for this type of character.

bassbambi veronicavivian Thursday, August 25, 2016

Yes so a normal person can't loose weight? Also isn't that always the case? IU in dream high and als 200 pound beauty. So it's neither uniqe nor does it look realistic... it also doens't really helps a positive body image, and on the other side we have an article about an oh my girl member who is dealing with a dissorder because of korean obssesenes with super skiny ness. So yes very great drama indeed! Let's more idiots who already big in body shaming people, with another "very realistic" drama beliefe that its been as easy to sheed some pounds then it is to take of the fake once

I understand what you're saying and I agree, BUT these characters are not supposed to be chubby the entire drama, they are chubby for a few episodes and then the characters make a transformation. Because an episode can take a week to film, a person can't loose 20 kg in one week. That would be extremely unhealthy.

I get you too, but like in dream high IU was basically the whole drama "fat" except a view episodes, the only original and cute twist was that she actually went back to being fat after. And judging from the look isn't this a kind of historical drama? It wa shard to be chubby back in time, becaus ethere wans't a smany food around. So this just rubs me the wrong way seriously

The drama is good in my opinion, those who haven't watched yet should give it a try!
