A college student in his 20's who took advantage of a fellow female student with an intellectual disability was sentenced to time in prison.�

The Seoul Southern District Court revealed on September 21 that they sentenced 28-year-old Mr. Kang to one year and six months in prison for violation of the laws relating to fraud and prostitution.�

When Kang learned that a fellow female student identified as 'A' was interested in him, he took advantage of the fact that she suffered from an intellectual disability, approaching her by telling her that he will find a job for her.�

Kang, who had no intention whatsoever to find work for 'A', told her, "The company helps with your living expenses so I need your debit card," and, "To work, you need a personal office so borrow the money for rent through a lending institution."�

'A', who believed everything Kang had said, lent him her debit card, and Kang proceeded to spend around 1.14 million KRW (~$968 USD) on travel and boarding expenses and food. In addition, using 'A's name, Kang borrowed money from a lending institution and pocketed 1.16 million KRW (~$9,854 USD) a total of five times.�

After using 'A' for her money and identity, Kang dragged her to a prostitution establishment near the Suwon Station area, telling her, "If you want to find employment, you need more money. Since you caused all this, work here and we can split the money you make," forcing her to sell her body.�

The courts related, "Kang needs to be severely punished for taking advantage of 'A', who has an intellectual disability. We took into consideration the fact that he confessed to all of his heinous�crimes."�
