In the fifth episode of 'Scholar Who Walks the Night,' there were some major happenings, mainly the acknowledgment of Yang Sun (YS) as a possible love interest by Sung Yeol (SY), freeing her from the image of a burdensome existence in the eyes of the beautiful vampire.�

We find out why Crown Prince Lee Yoon (CPY) is so desperately searching for his lost childhood friend Jin. He says that Jin may know the whereabouts of Crown Prince Junghyun (CPJ)'s elusive diary. So now we know why CPY can't forget his past bud. Jin may hold the secret key to defeat Gwi! I don't know about you, but this plot line is wearing thin really fast. There are 15 more episodes to go, and I'm just wondering how those 15 episodes will be filled with the meandering story arc of "How in the world will we ever kill Gwi?" CPJ's diary (or as some call it, "memorandum"--I just think diary has a better ring to it. Memorandum sounds too....stiff) keeps popping up, but when will we get to see the darned thing?

Hey there lil' mama Pt. II

YS's father warns YS to stop working for the mysterious, distant scholar. YS can't bring herself to obey him and just stands there looking uncomfortable. At this point, it's clear that YS will never hark the words of her wise father who knows all too well that THE�book, aka CPJ's diary, is dangerous.

CPY discovers that YS is actually a *gasp* woman! Now that the crown prince knows YS is definitely not Jin as Jin was a male (or so we are led to believe), he has no reason to try to get close to YS. But CPY is even more smitten by YS's natural beauty and feminine charms, of course. How can those round almond eyes, porcelain-like delicate white skin, petite stature, and pink lips fool anyone into thinking that YS is a man? Apparently everyone, including a century old vampire.

You ain't foolin this playa.�

YS confronts Myung Hee (MH) for having an assassin tail her, but it turns out it was the beautiful scholar that ordered for her to be followed. As YS looks on at him in disbelief, the scholar explains that he only put an assassin on her because he thought YS was hiding some crucial information. I thought that maybe YS would get angry (or at least a little upset) about being followed without her knowledge, but the girl actually got tearful and apologized to SY. Waht. Wait. No, girl, you got it backwards! It doesn't matter that you never found that book; you don't apologize to a person for putting an assassin on you!

Sexy and I know it.�

Gwi murders king's concubine because I'm assuming he's angered about the fact that 'Lustful Student' (LS) is still out and roaming about. Gwi tells king that he will consider letting him keep the throne only if CPY is able to capture LS. The kind probably had the bigger picture in mind when he sacrificed his son to Gwi. He had CPY believe that his father, Crown Prince Sadong (CPS), is really a traitor, steering him clear of being Gwi's target. As soon as Gwi finds out that CPY has knowledge of CPS's mission to finish what CPJ started, then CPY would already be dead. So before y'all start judging the king for being a cold-hearted, power-hungry ruler who sacrificed his own son for the throne, you should actually be praising him for thinking ahead.

You can't see but Changmin's mustachio is bristling in indignation from the rejection.�

YS dreams that SY kisses her on the lips and that he gifts her with a pair of expensive leather shoes. But is it really a dream or a reality? Judge for yourself by watching the episode!�

Gwi orders the seizure of all book peddlers in an attempt to look for YS and lure SY out. The preview included scenes from the next episode which promised the epic vampire battle that I've been waiting for! Let's hope that Lee Jun Ki will emerge from the battle as the victorious winner (though from what I've been seeing online and from the preview, that doesn't seem to be the case...).
