This former idol being labeled 'A' (age 26) has been sued on the account that he has never repaid his acquaintance 'B' (25) who lent him money on numerous occasions for a total sum of 500,000 KRW (~ 450 USD).

'A' debuted in 2007 as part of a 4-member male idol group, but the group was unable to gain the spotlight and halted promotions.

'B' wrote on his lawsuit application, "Last year from April to June, he told me he had to pay back a friend and borrowed money, and then he has since then ignored my request for him to pay me back several times. I told him to just show me that he intends on paying me back by just giving me at least a portion of it, but he'd say he had no money. Yet, he'd post pictures of himself going on trips to Japan and elsewhere on camping trips and eating expensive meals on his SNS account. He led a life that does not fit someone who had no money. He also said that he went into an agency that a famous singer recommended him to, and he'd exaggerate his image to those around him and use that to borrow money and not pay people back."

When Yonhap News reached the idol 'A' for a comment, he replied, "I wasn't able to pay him back because of my bad circumstances, and I had unintentionally ended up having to change my phone number, so it seems he misunderstood the situation because he couldn't contact me. Also, the reason I went on overseas trips was not to play, but for work purposes. I haven't been carrying on celebrity activities and because I have no agency, I'm studying music on my own. I have contacted 'B' recently and told him I'll repay him within this month."
