On February 26, it was announced that the flower stagecoach horse, who was a victim of severe abuse, has been rescued.

On February 23, JTBC News broadcasted footage of a horse being whipped and kicked by its driver in the city of Gyeongju. The video was then uploaded on YouTube and gained massive attention as people reeled in shock at the driver's cruelty and the horse's evident suffering. Since then, Korean organization Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth (CARE) launched a petition to put a sales ban on the driver's stagecoach business as punishment for his actions. To this day, the petition has received over 19,000 signatures. 

In addition to demanding justice, CARE has been working with the Gyeongju Police to trace the location of the horse. Although the driver claimed that he never whipped his horse, he suspiciously sold his stagecoach horses--including the one from the video--in the city of Yeongcheon, perhaps to get rid of the evidence of his abuse. 

CARE was able to find the horses on February 25, and after purchasing them from the second owner, they had the horses successfully transferred to a special hospital on the 26th with the help of the Korean Horse Affairs Association. This news comes as a great relief for many as the horses will finally receive treatment and a warm and safe environment after all the pain that they endured. 

In related news, the driver has been charged by the police for animal abuse.
