'Abnormal Summit' Enes Kaya releases a statement on allegations of infidelity

Enes Kaya

One of the international members of JTBC's 'Abnormal Summit' released an official statement after rumors blew up online alleging infidelity. Enes Kaya, the cast member in question, was already married when a netizen leaked screenshots of online chat rooms documenting chat logs between Enes and another woman.

His full statement follows below.

"Hello. This is Enes Kaya.
I deeply apologize hurting everyone who sent their love to me regarding the recent incident involving myself.

Arriving in Korea at a young age in September 2002, I spent my college life here and had a dream, the same as any young Korean man. I met a beautiful woman and started a family, and recently, I was able to have broadcast activities beyond what I had dreamed. I experienced a beautiful life filled with unconditional love and respect from many people.

I understand that this love comes from Korea's warm love for Turkey, and I am always thankful of that. That is why I am apologizing first before discussing my rights and wrongs. I am afraid that Korea's image of Turkey may be tarnished due to me.

I know very well why so many people are angry at me. Unlike my conservative image on broadcasts, the allegations against me online may have led you to feel betrayed.

Before I got married, like all young men, I met strangers via the Internet, and those relationships sometimes continued to the point where I would chat about adult topics with someone I didn't even know the face of. Many people became close to me - the foreigner - and some days, drunk on this fame, I would say things that would cause misunderstandings.

Seeing the criticisms against me grow larger and larger, I wanted to immediately stand up and make excuses. However, when the media judges me and my family from half-truths, that will pile upon the already large amount of pain they are facing. In any case, the current situation is due to my past behavior, so I will accept all of your anger.

However, if anyone twists the truth or spreads misinformation, I will act strongly against them, albeit calmly, as I believe that is the least I could do to everyone who has cared for me this far.

Starting with this incident, I realized how small I was without your love, and I learned that love comes from respect. I understood just how big and important your love for me was, and I'm sorry for not living up to that. Also, if anyone was hurt due to their personal relationship with me, I deeply apologize.

In the future, I plan on spending more time with my family, who despite all the pain still remain as the biggest foundations of support for me. I will treasure all of the love that you sent me. Please be well."
