South Koreans are tested on helpfulness in another subway experiment

More subway hidden camera experiments! This time, AK Plaza, a South Korean department store franchise, decided to see and show exactly how helpful strangers can be to one another.

In the video shown above, actors are sent into the subways to tape a written note, "Please wake me up at 'X' station," on their heads and then to take a nap. The goal of the very simple experiment is to see if people are willing to comply with the request and help a stranger out.


Many giggled at the sight of the signs; some even took pictures. But in the end, the endearing video revealed that many people would go out of their way to wake up a person upon request.


When interviewed on why they would wake up a stranger, people replied, "In this situation, shouldn't you help out?", and "How tired they must be to be like that, did they pull an all-nighter to study? I did it because I thought of these things."


The video concludes with, "If you have a little interest [in others], the world will become a warm place," in hopes of encouraging its viewers to similarly help each other out. The video has gained over 500,000 views, with netizens responding positively like:
