ANGEL EYES EPISODE 8

We left off last episode with Ji Woon staring up at Dong Joo and Soo Wan from the parking lot, seeing them locked in an embrace. Apparently he didn't know it was them or didn't want to admit it.

Ji Woon is very persistent. He is willing to wait for Soo Wan. It's almost like he's sure she'll come back to him. During a meal with her, Ji Woon just babbles on with a smile on his face, while Soo Wan just sits there looking uncomfortable. With Dong Joo's return, Ji Woon is happy, not knowing that his friend is also his romantic rival.� When Director Yoon allows that he sees Dong Joo as a son, Ji Woon tells Dong Joo that he is proud to be his brother-in-law. I wonder how it will change things between them since at the end of the episode he sees them together much more clearly now.

Young Ji is as manipulative as ever. She admits to Ji Woon that she placed him as ER Chief because she knows he's the best and wants everyone else to know it as well. She even makes excuses for Director Yoon's murder of Jung Hwa. He finally admits it to her and Young Ji tells him he did what any parent would do, that Jung Hwa was bound to die from a heart attack anyway. Even though Young Ji justifies it, she now is in a position to gain even more power. �

Director Yoon cannot and will not accept Dong Joo as Soo Wan's paramour. I'm not quite sure why this is. He's against�Dong Joo, who is so much like a son to him, being with his daughter? The reason for their relationship is twisted. It's because Dong Joo saw Director Yoon�desperately trying to save his mother and is unaware that Director Yoon is responsible for her death. Dong Joo's grateful embrace caused�Director Yoon to feel that he had to know how this boy turned out and to finance his education. Perhaps Director Yoon is reminded of his crime every time he sees Dong Joo? Maybe that's why he doesn't want him around? �

Soo Wan is terribly confused here. Ji Woon's advances just make her feel worse, since she cares for him, just not in a romantic way. She is nervous around him and excuses herself every chance she gets. She's happy with Dong Joo, but it still bothers her that Ji Woon and her father do not know about their relationship.� �

Former detective Woo Chul appears to be staying mostly clean, and Dong Joo continues to bring him food and to eat with him. A bond appears to have developed between them, and Woo Chul wants to investigate the hit-and-run accident for Dong Joo, whom he claims is "amazing." Min Soo helps him with the investigation, providing information on the possible cars that match the tire tracks taken at the scene. With 836 cars, he's not going to be done anytime soon.

The relationship between Dong Joo and Soo Wan is charming at times. Early on in the episode, they play a game in which they steal each other's side dishes, using excuses such as "I know they don't eat rice in America, so I'll eat this for you," all done playfully with grins. It's little moments like this when the writing is deft that you get the sense their romance is real. There's also an amusing incident of jealousy that develops when a young woman, who looks to be a teenager, greets Dong Joo warmly. Soo Wan, initially unaware that this girl is his sister, gives Dong Joo the cold shoulder, hanging up on his calls prematurely and giving him terse answers. Soo Wan finally recognizes Hye Joo, able to see her for the first time, and they greet each other with tears.� �

Teddy, upon seeing Hye Joo, experiences love at first sight. I see a couple problems with this since I'm pretty sure she's a teenager. I can't find confirmation of her age anywhere. It's possible she could be university age. It should be interesting since they both spent time in America. At least they have that in common.

Angel Eyes is creating even more plot threads. I wonder what Ji Woon will do now that he knows Dong Joo is in the picture. How long will it take Teddy to ask Hye Joo out? And will Dong Joo be okay with them dating? What more will we find about the hit and run, and why was it covered up? What exactly does Dr. Choi have on Director Yoon?
