It set the record for the most moviegoers on the first day for a 19+ movie released on a weekday, and then went onto become the fastest 19+ movie to reach 1,000,000 watchers! 'Friend 2' is a sequel to the famous 2001 hit 'Friend'.

Even before the movie was released, half of Korea's moviegoers pre-ordered their tickets for the movie. The movie managed to reach 1 million before 19+ hits such as "The New World", "Tazza", and "The Man From Nowhere". It also reached 1 million before non-19+ hits such as "Masquerade" and "The Present From Room 7".
