UPDATE (12/03/10): Great news! SOS Children's Villages has included a PayPal option, just click the donation link below! With the holidays well underway, we at allkpop (6Theory Media) wanted to do something very special this year. Most of us take our loving families and homes for granted; I think a good majority of us fail to realize how special these relationships are and how well off we really are. As you know, there are many children out there who aren't as blessed as us, so we wanted to help these children out and make a positive difference in their lives. This year, we reached out to SOS Children's Villages to create a special event for our readers. SOS Children's Villages operate 500 villages in 132 countries worldwide, and within their network, they havethree children's facilities in South Korea, for whom we will be sponsoring through our donation project. SOS Children's Villages provide orphaned children with a loving mother, a home, and a family, so that they are able to grow up together in a supportive environment. The loving atmosphere created for these children is just absolutely heart-warming, as you can see in the photo below. [caption id="attachment_180893" align="aligncenter" width="459" caption="SOS South Korea in Seoul, Suncheon and Daegu, courtesy of "SOS Children's Villages USA""][/caption] As you all know, allkpop has over 3 million readers a month, and with just a small contribution from our readers, together we have the power to make a huge difference. Our minimum goal is to contribute a total of $20,000 USD to SOS Children's Villages, and here's how we're going to do it! From now until December 24th, 2010 @ 11:59PM EST, we ask that you find it in your hearts to make a contribution to SOS Children's Villages. At the end of the event period, allkpop (6Theory Media) will match 100% of all contributions made by our readers up to a total of $10,000 USD. We chose South Korea this year, because well, we are a Korean entertainment blog and we wanted to give back to the country that has been providing us with years of entertainment. Similarly, many of you have had positive experiences in your lives thanks to the Korean entertainment industry, so please find it in your hearts to make a contribution to this wonderful cause! Remember that no amount is too small, so let's all strive to make a positive difference in a child's life! Also, please share this event with friends and family, as getting more people involved to assist this great project will only help! Thank you all and God bless! -Johnny Noh CLICK HERE TO MAKE A DONATION If you prefer to donate via PayPal, please click here.
