Winners of TVXQ #alwayskeepthefaith + Valentine's Day Giveaways!

Earlier this month, allkpop held two big contests for you readers, the TVXQ #alwayskeepthefaith & Valentine's Day Giveaways, and we're finally ready to reveal the winners! Thanks to everyone who participated, and a big shoutout to our friends at YesAsia for their generous donations for this event. Now without further ado, let's get to the results... TVXQ #alwayskeepthefaith Giveaway We were overwhelmed with over 2200 entries for this giveaway, but we wanted to make a fair playing field by going through every entry.Although there were many contenders, we ultimately (and unanimously) chose these two winners because they stood out from the crowd. Drumroll... congrats to skip2myliu33, who will receive the All About Dong Bang Shin Ki Season 3 DVD box set for the following winning submission!

"What made you fall in love with TVXQ?" Yunho once said in a UFO reply, "If you ever feel lonely, just listen to our music and we will be with you." It's rather ironic that I would quote TVXQ's resident King of Sap considering that my caustic and jaded personality would make for a natural clash with TVXQ's boyband cheesy sentiment. And yet, this same cheesy sentiment is perhaps the greatest reassurance and most precious piece of advice I've ever received. We all 'fall in love' with TVXQ for the obvious reasonstheir stage charisma, their flawless dancing, their vocal ability that is worthy of their lofty name. But if that is the true criteria for 'falling in love' with something, then where does one draw the line between 'love' and 'spazzy fangirling'? I'm not ashamed to admit that there has been more than one occasion where I've found myself taking Yunho's advice, flooding with my ears with enough TVXQ until the silence washes away. It was then that I realized that Yunho's words wasn't just a hastily typed reply to a fan who was antsy for a reply. Music is a method of communicationnot just of notes and lyrics, but of raw emotion. The five men of TVXQ inject their experiences and emotions into their music. At that point, the lyrics of the musicwhether or not one can understand the Japanese or Korean or Engrishare stripped away. All that's left is the music. With every note, you hearyou feeltheir happiness, their sorrow, their frustration, their joyand you find that it matches your very own happiness or sorrows or joys. If 'love' can be defined as 'an emotional connection between two parties,' then this is exactly why I fell in love with TVXQ. Not their looks, not their charisma, not even their voices. I fell in love with them because we are all human. Our joys, pains, frustrationsand lonelinesswe share them all through the power of music. TVXQ was simply the first to reach out a hand and tell me, "We don't know each other, we don't speak the same language, and we may never meet face-to-face, but we're here now. We understand. And it's going to be okay."
Second place went to Shifter_Go; read his entry here. Shifter_Go will receive a copy of the Tohoshinki JJ Magazine, so major kudos to him! Valentine's Day Giveaway We've random selected the following five commenters to win an album bySNSD,CNBLUE,ZE:A or Trax album, or an SNSD Oh! poster: Tw0Across JaeJoongFanGirl JUNGMiA letski07 wonderbangg Congratulations to these seven readers from both contests; please email your names & addresses (and, for the V-Day giveaway, your prize preference) to me at jenny [at] 6theory.com to claim your prize.
