As previously reported, Core Contents Media’s newest girl group T-ara took an unusual route and made their official debut on the variety talk show MBC Golden Fishery Radio Star. Thanks to CodeMonmonSeason2, the Radio Star episode featuring T-ara finally made its way onto YouTube for the rest of the world to see. In the episode Ji Yeon, labeled as the “2nd Kim Tae Hee,” mentions that after her company declared to the media that she was the 2nd Kim Tae Hee, she was talked down to by many different people. She declined to repeat any specific comments that were made to her but she did say that there were so many negative comments that it would be difficult for her to sum them up in one sentence. Fellow T-ara member So Yeon also talked about her reasons for quitting halfway through the training process for Girls’ Generation / SNSD back in 2005. She said that training to be in SNSD, which was an 11 member group at the time in the early stages of SNSD’s training, was physically draining and she was almost always tired. In the middle of the training process for SNSD, she gave up and quit thus losing her chance to be in what is arguably the most popular Kpop girl group in Korea today. So Yeon went on to say that she doesn’t regret quitting even though they're very successful and well known. In hindsight, she now views the situation as an unfortunate occurrence in her life that has ultimately transformed into a blessing. I think the ladies of T-ara are fairly cute and talented but I always reserve my final judgment of new artists until after I see them perform live on stage. T-ara will be performing on all four major music programs this week and I’m looking forward to seeing their debut performances and what they have to offer to the present Kpop scene that’s heavily saturated with girl groups.
