2008 Yet Another Wonder Year?

JYP's 5 female group Wonder Girls, has a big schedule lined up for this year. Following a short vacation (ending the promotion of their album), they will return to the entertainment scene - not as singers, but as models. Their first order of business is a six month contract with school stationary items from ‘Pal Gal Pen’. After hitting the 40,000 mark in album sales, winning Korea over with their second single and making it the most played song in Korea for 2007, it would seem as if the group would take a much deserved break. But these girls just keep working harder and harder, the bigger they get. Due to two successful seasons of ‘MTV Wonder Girls’, the Wonder Girls will now be heading to America in early February to film yet another season. MTV will be following them around and show the fans how their lives are in a foreign country (starting in San Francisco and moving all the way to New York). Season 1 (titled "The Beginning”) featured scenes of how the members were picked for the group. Season 2 (titled "The Simple Life”) showed how they went about their lives as celebrities. This time, MTV promises a diverse experience with art, music, and fashion for the upcoming episodes. After their break this month, they will tour in New York, Los Angeles, and two other (unknown) American cities with producer Park Jin Young. JYP's original intent was to showcase Min, G-Soul, and J,Lim, but there are now hopes and rumors for the Wonder Girls to be showcased in America as well. Due to the large amount of viewers, MTV is more than welcome to film them once again and air their show in March. There is also much talk that JYP will milk the Wonder Girls for yet another single in mid 2008. It is not confirmed yet, however all signs are pointing to track 7 of their album (The Wonder Years), called "Wishing on a Star.” There is much belief that the music video will be filmed during their stay in America. If all holds true, then it will be the groups’ first slow song. Shortly afterwards, the girls will release a new album around June of 2008! Other plans for the Wonder Girls is a concert later on in the year. This will be their first concert and will most likely be after the release of their second album (they need more songs to perform). Initially they had plans to invite Epik High, but with Tablo leaving, who knows what will happen. If JYP and his puppets do not choose to pursue a career in the U.S., we can expect them to be hitting the Chinese market, which they have been frequenting. Entering this market, will most likely be very easy as they have already visited 9 times (including many performances). 2007 has brought so much fortune for the Wonder Girls, but it looks like 2008 will be even more promising.
