KARA’s online shopping mall t-shirt sparks controversy

It feels like we announced the success of KARA’s online shopping mall Karaya just moments ago but they’re already getting the harsh netizen treatment.

We noticed that a lot of you guys even noticed this from our previous article. A strong curse word was written in big bold and black letters on one of the t-shirts they sell, and it was distributed together with the press release.

In the photos of the shirt, Jiyoung and Hara are sporting it which says, “BEST FUCKIN FIVE.” I’m not sure what the “five” is referring to but one thing is for sure, the F bomb is written very clearly. The shirt is currently going for around $12.

Netizens have criticized this shirt,

“I understand that foreigners use this word a lot but there’s no need in putting it on a shirt and wearing it around.”

“In foreign shows, they beep this word out. It’s a curse word for sure.”

“Young girls like KARA shouldn’t promote something like that. Other little girls will follow.”

Karaya’s representative expressed, “We had no idea that this would cause a controversy. We were just using it for the purpose of the clothes. It’s just a witty remark often used by people internationally.”

What do you guys think? Better get it soon before it gets removed. The t-shirt has now been pulled off the website and is not available for sale anymore.
