It's worth it, I didn't know anyone there and once the program started I made a whole bunch from all over the world. I still keep in contact with some of them and its been 5 years. There's tend to be heavy drinking involved and lots of clubbing.

Some of my friends are going on the Yonsei Uni one. I debated whether I should go but I've got other stuff going on which kinda clashes with the time that the summer school program is on...

How much do we have to pay for this?

Sweet_Milk_Tea pwincess9 Thursday, April 21, 2016

it says so on their website

I'm not sure how much my friends are paying because it's also an exchange style thing recognised/sponsored by our uni.

I would travel but I did a undercut. Now I'm in the super awkward growing phase.

Please don't go to a foreign country just because your oppas are there. You will not have fun, guaranteed.

why would u do this in the summer when nobody actually goes to uni? better to apply for a semester abroad instead, so you can actually experience the university life in korea as it really is.

Sweet_Milk_Tea hiroonakamura Wednesday, April 20, 2016

um lots of people take summer sessions in uni. Also, summer is a good time to study abroad because it doesn't interfere with the regular school term. I couldn't do the Japanese study abroad in Kyoto when I was an undergraduate student because it took place during Spring quarter at my school and I had other important classes I needed to take.

hiroonakamura Sweet_Milk_Tea Friday, April 22, 2016

you should've done the abroad thing and waited a year to finish your regular uni work. That way, you could've had the best of both worlds.

Sweet_Milk_Tea hiroonakamura Friday, April 22, 2016

i was a community college > university transfer at 22 and wanted to graduate as quickly as possible at 25, which means getting all my required major courses out of the way first and then go study abroad. Plus, I wasn't going to live in my university town for another year. The weather there sucks especially in summer and spring is unbearable with all the tree pollens in the air.

hiroonakamura Sweet_Milk_Tea Saturday, April 23, 2016

aha, so u get to study abroad now? cool. then go to south korea and do it when their universities contain real students and not just people who are forced to take summer uni classes coz of low grades or people from abroad. it's not too late!

Sweet_Milk_Tea hiroonakamura Sunday, April 24, 2016

um I already did study abroad.Did you not see my other comment below where I said I went on the SNU ISI program??

Sweet_Milk_Tea Sunday, April 24, 2016

also there were plenty of "real students" when I was there in summer. You forget that the Korean academic school year is different from in the West. Also the summer abroad trip broke my wallet so I can't do another study abroad, and why would I do a study abroad again when I should be getting a job? Studying abroad a 2nd time isn't going to earn me money.

Sweet_Milk_Tea Sunday, April 24, 2016

the Korean academic school year runs from March until mid-July, and then their second semester starts back up in August. I studied in Korea from late June - August.

Sweet_Milk_Tea Wednesday, April 20, 2016

I went on the SNU ISI program and really enjoyed it.
