Welcome to Arirang TV's new series where we introduce various underrated artists from Korea to the international audience each month! 


With the help from Arirang TV's 'I'M LIVE' a Korean music program that introduces the authentic beauty of Korean contemporary music to the world, we hope to be adding diversity and possibly enlightening our international readers with the Korean music scene that has not yet been touched on.

1.Bolbbalgan4

Bolbbalgan4 (Ahn Ji Young & Woo Ji Yoon) burst onto the music scene through the talent show "Superstar K" and mesmerized the ears and souls of the public immediately with their unique voices and musicality. Known for their wonderful song and lyric writing skills, the duo quickly became the "idol stars of the indie scene," representing young girls in their 20's with their sweet, adorable qualities. 


Along with Bolbbalgan4, singer-songwriter Kim Ji-soo also presents touching performances, showing off his growth as a musician. Join us and feast your soul with Bolbbalgan4 and Kim Ji-soo's sweet love songs that are perfect for this season of love!




2. Hyukoh


Joining us this month is the band Hyukoh! This quartet burst onto the music scene in 2012 with the EP, "20," and has been receiving both commercial and critical acclaim for their trendy yet unique musicality ever since. The band primarily depicts the worries and pain today's youngsters have with relatable lyrics and sentimental sounds, saying that youth is not only bright and radiant but also depressing and full of uncertainty.



3. Soran


Soran is one of the hottest bands in Korea! This quartet is renowned for their soft and pleasing musicality, witty lyrics, and flawless stage manners. Upon their debut in 2010 with the album, "Why Didn't I Know Back Then," the band has been constantly taking the Korean music scene by storm, becoming one of the most sought-after bands of all time. Witty at times but romantic and soothing at others, Soran showed off their versatile qualities on this edition of I'm Live. Also, the members held a quick Q&A session with the audience and decorated an unforgettable night in Seoul. 



4. O3ohn

O3ohn burst onto the music scene as a guitarist for the band Shin Se-ha in the Town and then made himself known with his solo and cover songs. In 2016, O3ohn officially made his debut as a singer-songwriter with the EP, "O," and has been nourishing the hearts and souls of the public ever since.


On the 10th episode of I'm Live, O3ohn performs some of his greatest hits as well as his unreleased tracks, accentuating his signature calm and lonesome musicality. With the hope that his music complements beautiful moments and memories, the artist offered an unforgettable night in Seoul.



5.Urban Zakapa

Since debuting in 2009, the trio (Park Yong-in, Jo Hyunah, and Kwon Soon-il) has been gaining much acclaim for their heart-melting vocal harmonies, addicting melodies, and sweet, mellow lyrics. The band is also known for their flawless live singing skills and stage manners.


For the 11th episode of I'm Live, the three performed some of their all-time greatest hits, including "Thursday Night," "Just A Feeling," "I Don't Love You," and "My Love," along with their newest track "Alone." Also, the trio held a fun Q&A session with the audience, decorating an unforgettable night in Seoul.






6. Paul Kim

On the 12th episode of I'm Live is Paul Kim! This singer-songwriter is famous for his signature, sweet voice that covers a wide range of genres and styles. On this episode, the artist mesmerizes the audience with his flawless stage manners and singing skills, announcing that he is the up and coming king of live performances. From the heartrending ballads "Her" and "Rain" to the danceable tracks "Wanna Love You" and "Doowap," the concert features a surprising amount of diversity. Tune into the performance above and let Paul Kim soothe your soul!
