Ok so today the representatives of Japan for the second generation of z girls and z boys were announced today.

The girl is named Atsuchi Manami, she is 17 years old:

The boy is named Taichi. He is 23 years old.

Taichi is half Korean and half Japanese. He can speak fluent korean. And the thing is, this dude was in a kpop group called Blanc7 which disbanded this year:

(He is the one furthest to the right)

What's interesting about this is that that concept of the two groups was that they would be debuting in Korea without a Korean member. The ceo of the project said himself that they won't add a korean member. So why did they get a Korean member (a kpop idol as well) to participate in the new group? (not that there is anything wrong with it, it just means the groups might take a new turn.)

I hope this means that they will sing in korean and promote in Korea (on award shows.) This might be a turn for the better.

The other members chosen for the second gen boy group in case you are curious (the taiwanese member is still not known but will be announced soon:

    Lorensius (Indonesia):

    Christian (Phillipines)

    Cheetah (Thailand)

    Phi Long (Vietnam)

    Daksh (India)

A genuine question, no hate. Was the first generation successful? Because I never heard or saw anything about them aside from their debut mv’s.

Well the Z-Pop dream channel atm has 342K subs , if you call that success. The girls are a lot more popular than the boys. In the boy's last comeback in July they only gathered up 2.3 million views. The girl's comeback has almost 4 million. I feel their relevancy might be fading away, but I will still support them. I really don't think it's a good idea to replace the first gen so quickly when they aren't even established yet.

No idea. I just pray they won't be replaced so quickly. The girls especially have amazing personalities and are extremely talented (have you seen Carlyn's high notes) and I don't want them to go away so quickly.

Idea of z-pop is interesting. I hope they would develop it.

Ah okay, thanks for answering! It really won’t be smart to replace the first generation so soon. They should establish themselves a lot more, in order to be able to pull off a new generation-type of concept.

Maybe the first groups are just a project? And Manami is super cute! Maybe I will just follow Zpop again because of her lol :D
