The law to protect those under 20 from working after 10pm .

I saw some variety show and nct jisung was immediately puts to sleep because he cant work over 10 pm .( he is 17 ) Even though they were still filming.

Also on korea music festival , the ending stage where all group gather together...

All of the underage member from nct , stray kids ..etc are not allowed to be on stage alongside their older members.

Also mnet couldnt do anything but follow the law for pd48 . Which will be airing earlier than schedules time . Since it is live show.

So what do you think about this ? Award show especially ended pretty late. This means that less screetimes for the younger..

They can serve in the army from age 18 upwards but can’t be on stage after 10PM until they’re 20? Much sense, very logic.

Surprised that Korea is more strict about this than the UK... Under UK law someone under 18 isn't allowed to work past midnight.

The age 20 you mentioned is based from the Lunar Calender, in summary, everyone is born at the age of 1 but depending on when they were born you could be 2 years of age.

In general use, Koreans use Lunar Birthdays more than Date of Birth, however all Korean Laws are by Date of Birth so...

The age of Majority, or when you become an adult, is 19 years old, from your date of Birth, in Lunar years it is as early as 20. Everyone that is 18 years and younger are Minors.

The current law forbids Minors working between 10PM - 6AM unless they have permission from thier Legal Guardians but in general, major companies just ban them.

    The law includes.

35 hours maximum working week for 14 and under
40 hours maximum working week for 15 - 18 year olds

That's not new, it just became relevant due to PD48. And yes, it's a good thing.

Why do I find it cool to protect underage kids? Is there a problem with that or I'm I missing something?

this is about as stupid as the law in the us where you can serve in the army and drive a car, but dont you dare have a drink...

if i know anything about being in the military, it makes you want to have a drink ^^
