As all of you know, there's this military enlistment in kpop. So basically idols will have to leave their group for military enlistment for two years and according to Korea’s new law, idols must go for military service whenever the country calls for them now, they cannot delay it until they’re 30 anymore. So jin will enlist in around 2020 which is three years later. By that schedule, BTS will only be 7 again by 2028. DATES: JIN- 2020 YOONGI- 2022 NAMJOON- 2023 HOSEOK- 2023 JIMIN- 2024 TAEHYUNG- 2024 JUNGKOOK- 2026 -------- [ !! This has quite a high possibility of happening since their age gap is 2 years, and Jungkook is the last member they would have to wait for, so if they enlist together, it would speed up the group’s comeback date. A similar case is TVXQ’s Changmin (‘88), he enlisted with Yunho (‘86) in 2015, and because of that they’ll both be discharged this year (2017), and TVXQ will have an end-of-year comeback. This act is rare given the natural will to delay enlistment and prolong (and secure) current popularity, you can kind of say that in a way, the youngest member is making a sacrifice for the sake of the team. -------- [ !! IMPT READ PLS !! ] -------- 2020 - With only Jin gone, BTS is capable of having group comebacks, but it’s hard to say as it depends on the group’s decision if they want to release new tracks with one member absent. They can choose to have unit activities instead. 2022 - One vocal and one rapper gone, I can’t say for sure that BTS cannot release new songs as a group, but by their character, I think they may mainly do solo activities and sub-units. 2023 - Similar to the previous year, it will be solo activities and unaffected sub-units, and Jin will probably announce his comeback with his own solo activity. 2024 - The year with the least members, so obviously, solos. 2025 - Rap line may have their own comeback, maybe cypher p7? 2026 - If Jungkook really does enlist with Jimin & Taehyung, BTS will have a comeback end of that year. well in industries where bts is still considered new and fresh, a member missing might not affect their rising popularity. it might be hard for jin to be relevant after returning but i think we’ll only know by the third member leaving or when there are 3 of em in 2024
Honestly there is a big chance that they might all enlist together though, no? They do everything together, I would not be surprised if they all just jumped the van to make their fans wait less.
I hope that the members that remain can do good as a group and I also wish them the best with solo projects if they end up doing that.

I think it's a speculation ._. but it would be better if they were to enlist half or all together and make a big comeback I think half makes more sense cause they wouldn't want to just be away from their army for two years so in the mean time subunits can promote or if the army is okay with it they can all get it over in two years and make a big comeback
It is uncommon for the entire group to enlist together, because they always prefer having other members still active in the industry, so that people won’t forget about the group that fast. TVXQ is a special case, because they’re a duo, so they opted to enlist together and have a more speedy comeback than being gone for 4 years as a group. Even a trio like JYJ only had two members enlisted, while Junsu remained active in the industry, and he’s only enlisted this year, after Yoochun & Jaejoong are discharged.
i think they won't enlist one-by-one cuz that'll take too long so maybe suga and jin would enlist, then rm and jhope, then jimin, v, and jungkook? or they can enlist together and take a two year break. bighit can put out their new group by then and it'll be a shorter wait in general. i think that to be realistic, their fame would go down a bit when they enlist (cuz solo stans exist) but if they can come back safe and sound as ot7, their fame might shoot back up.

No they won't. We army's will obvioulsy keep BTS's fame alive. and yes their fame may go down by a lot but we true army's will keep them alivee
If we’re being honest, popularity will decrease by a lot if V, Jimin, and Jungkook enlist at the same time. A lot of people will jump ship because a lot of people only really care about those three (this excludes the loyal ARMY that love all of the boys of course).
