Well to be realistic there is always a chance. Popularity does not last in most cases and it will die especially as the group grows older. Like what happened to 1D or Justin Bieber. They still have many fans but they are not nearly as popular as they used to be.However, currently Black Pink is the biggest international group and their popularity will continue rising I think but will this last forever? Probably not.
Promotion for NA tour or ktl..I was talking about promotions for BP... LM sold 1M when they weren't even called biggest gg but no is being called, But bp is called right now...they r the most subscribed channel but not even 3%fandom is buying their album.... Nd why r u asking me to remove the diff versions of izone's albums..BP is dat Big dey should outsold izone whole sales(though it's just 2mini with versions) They didn't got promos Lmao Corden Stephen Sarah Coachella day 1 Coachella day2 btw weren't they the 2nd most discussed performers of coachella after ariana Ur own fandom said that btw
BP will remain a wall for KPOP GG's internationally for a really long time quote me in a few years when things change!
Probably only another from YG at this point. Getting it right on the level they have isn't lite work.
No girl group can surpass BP, just like no boy group can surpass BTS because they are both rare success. But, I think Aespa has a chance in the sense of being the top girl group internationally. I could see their technology concept being really popular in the west, especially since the cyberpunk aesthetic is trendy right now.
I think for now the only one who can do it are three: Itzy, Gidle, and Aespa. YGNGG can be also but we know nothing about them.
All these groups are promising. Itzy is put together well. I think they will be interesting to continue to watch grow and level up on singing and harmonies. Aespa's team will really have to keep them with solid songs each release with hardly any "throw-aways". They have the company resources and the foundation to contribute in a way that stands out. I am just uncertain about their team's savvy and ability to deliver on a high level at this point. G-Idle could tap and partially lock into a hipper sound. Soyeon spitting something crazy could up the id0l-rapper bar in just a single MV release.
I know this thread is old but for me the answer is... no group which already debuted. I know people love saying "it's only their debut, wait a couple years" but in the case of surpassing bp you need an smash debut and hit after hit, not just slowly gaining fans. The closest to this effect were itzy but they couldnt sustain the momentum, thats where almost everyone fails. BTS are probably the only exception to this rule but they are another anomaly and took them years coming from small company. So I think if bp are surpassed it will be by gg from unknown company or someone who can sustain results since debut and are phenomenon like them
I lost count at the amounts of comments that aged like rotten milk in this thread. BP antis are hilarious
the answer is no and probably no as long as blackpink is active. I doubt any girl group will reach their international success. literally in America you can ask non kpop stans if they know blackpink and they’d be like aren’t they a kpop group or they’d be like i only know blackpink and bts.
Ngl bp is really unique with fashion and music sense. Even seeing itzy and aespa, it still doesn’t have the same vibes that is just too difficult to pin point it in words.
