because jpop is really JAPANESE POP, while kpop is just western music in korean, and I also think jpop doesn't give a shit about international fans, while kpop is desperate about it

If the Japanese music industry wasn't so arrogant and let in the international community, I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy jpop as much as kpop. Especially if they had variety and reality shows available and subbed. But if I can't find anything about these groups, and all I find are short, unsubbed clips, so it's just not worth the headache of looking. I can't even find much about Korean groups when they go to Japan. It's like they fell in a black hole. On the other hand, when they go to China, it's pretty easy to find them.

I think it's hit or miss, and very random promotion of the Jpop artist. Avex is weirdly unpredictable who they will pay to promote. Sony and subsidiaries is the same. Sony and Victor are notorious about being cheap in continuing to promote Jpop/Jrock groups in the west. Example: (Jrock) Scandal and Gacharic Spin have almost disappeared from YouTube, while they are still yet very active and popular, and have worldwide recognition.

It's about the money. The revenue is enough to forego the expensive exposure in the west. Thank, in part, YouTube Red and licensing for killing much of the exposure to Jpop/Jrock. Their licensing fees, blocking of content, and nazi-like pursuit of re-posters, has made Jpop/Jrock music go dark to the west. I understand some of it......labels should not get free promotion through YouTube, without sharing the revenue. But it has become extortion, and the labels are just.....meh....forget it.

This is only in the last 2 years. Before then, I saw a lot...much less today.
