What I mean to pull a Sistar/Mamamoo is that, having a low hyped debut from a non-famous company, but ultimately increasing their fanbase and popularity to be one of the top GGs of their generation, to the extent that they are the groups that literally made what the companies are today. Sistar, debut with "Push Push", but at that point of time were behind huge competition from more popular GGs from bigger companies. But the Sistar we know how, have a string of multiple hits. In fact Sistar had 9 No.1 songs on the Gaon Digital Charts starting from So Cool Had huge hits such as Back then Starship only had 1 artist K Will, and Sistar was their first ever group that debut. Sistar rose to fame and increase their popularity and made the company grow to what it is now. Even though Sistar is no longer around, Starship is one of the bigger companies (not as big as the Big 3 obviously) with acts such as Monsta X/WJSN/Cravity, and might debut their new GG soon next year. Without Sistar this all might not be possible at all. Next we have Mamamoo, debut with Mr Ambiguous At the start they weren't popular at all. However, they had a breakout hit Um Oh Ah Yeh that managed to reach No.3 on the Gaon Digital Charts Followed then they had huge hits such as Before RBW, Mamamoo was under a company called WA Entertainment and was their first GG, just like Sistar. It was only in 2015 they merged with Rainbow Bridge Agency to become RBW. From then on after the success of Mamamoo, they started to debut other groups like ONEUS and ONEWE. So the magic question now is, who do you think could be the Sistar/Mamamoo of the 4th Gen? Do you think they have appeared yet? Or do you think we will never see such a phenomenon in the KPOP world again?
They debut seemed pretty hyped though compared to what Sistar/Mamamoo was at their time, although not as hyped as other big 3 debuts. But the part of them being from a less famous company does fits the book

Fromis_9 could do it they ain't from big company, they were sidelined for 15 months, still they sold 50k, they have everything: talent + visuals + a lot of all-rounders

You know the one huge disappointing thing I hate about their company was how did they not capitalise on Love Bomb? It was actually doing pretty ok for a low/mid tier GG but they put them on such a long hiatus

Still if we will get comeback in first three months of 2021 it will mean that they're ready to pump money to Fromis, and money is there because IZ*ONE was doing amazing.
I don't see any potential in the new groups to reach mamamoo/sistar level. They lack the it factor. I think both sistar and mamamoo got noticed quite early in their career which isn't happening to the other new nugu company ggs.
It's amazing how their debut wasn't as hyped, but in the spam of just 1 - 2 years they already started getting popular through their songs/talent and in their later years became the top of their generation
Well it's hard. Both Sistar and Mamamoo debut with tons of charisma, and i don't see any rookie groups can replicate them soon
