Once I played the Legend of Zelda games, I didn't have as much interest in other games. I actually stopped playing video games after 16 years old.
RPGs are not Survival Games. There's an intersection though as survival games do tend to have RPG mechanics and some RPGs might have some survival mechanics as well (although I can't think of one title right now) but it's a different genre in itself. JRPGs is a sub-genre of RPGs. Even most MMOs fall under the big RPG umbrella.
Fortnite isn't an FPS - it's a TPS.
Indie Games isn't a genre. It just refer to games done by smaller teams (or even a singular person in some instances) without the backing of a big publisher. Dead Cells, Don't Starve, The Messenger, Stardew Valley, and Undertale are all examples of indie games falling under different genres being an action-adventure/metroidvania, a survival game, platformer/sidescroller, a sim, and an RPG respectively. Adventure games (e.g. Walking Sims) like Gone Home, What Remains of Edith Finch, and Firewatch is I think what the poll is referring to which isn't always indie like Everybody's Gone to the Rapture as it was published by Sony.
Per the topic, I kinda play a lot of games except MMOs, MOBAs, and Battle Royales. Nothing wrong with those games, it just doesn't resonate with me.
I’ve pretty much been playing FO4 since it’s release in 2015. Occasionally I would play Black-Ops for something different but always go back to FO4.
This may come to a surprise for many…but here's my answer: Fallout 4
An open world action RPG/ First person shooter, this game is set nearly 200 years after Nuclear war devastates the entire United States. You play as a character only known as the “sole/lone survivor”, a character YOU create using one of the greatest character creation systems of all time. Wander the nuclear wasteland while dealing with the many factions, creatures, and raiders that wander about. Build settlements and camps to rebuild the Commonwealth (name of open world hub). Customize weapons and armor to how you play by adding scopes, muzzles, barrels, stocks, and more. Find legendary weapons on mutating enemies. Discover over 100 different locations, dungeons, and unlock legendary gear.
This game to me was MIND BLOWING. I prefer to play this game over The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as these two titles were in competition for GOTY. I like the idea of a grind, so I am constantly playing to find loot, dungeons, enemies, heck even just wanting to try the numerous weapons and play styles.
FPS, Indie/Story Game, MMO. MOBA
