    Buying BTS Physical albums?
Hypothetically if the next album does only 500K sales ww,will BTS lose their relavancy?
Is army's overwhelming purchasing power the reason BTS is relavant nowadays?
Will BTS maintain their hype with less album sales?
    Discuss peacefully.

    No?
Bts has already entered “legend” status with record breaking sales and other things. Once you reach “legend” status you never really lose relevancy.

Look at Bigbang, they’re not as great in their album sales but they’re wayyyy more relevant than more than half of the industry. Same with SUJU, TVXQ, SNSD, etc.

I have no issues with bts global popularity
It's quite cool that a Korean group has reached that level
    Now army's well that's a different case...

Because that's the only default thing you have to prove BTS being a wall.
The reality is BTS is playing in same sand box as BP across other metrics

BTS will still be relevant cause of kpop fans' inability to focus on their faves.

No, they aren't, not even digitally, not on the social artist chart, not in economic impact.
We buy because it's worth our money. The biggest artists today around the world still sell a lot of physicals, deal with it.
    Focus on your favs.

In which box is bp close to bts? bts have more digitals, more physicals, better charting, better streams (8B streams on yt and 6B on spotify), better touring numbers so how are they close to bts? they literally have no competitors right now

let bp have more years at least, stop dragging them, you'll just get them more hate

I literally just bought 4 BTS albums so in ur hypothetical alternate universe BTS would still have 4 sales sry

And I actually thought physical sales weren't really a good representation of popularity, especially in K-Pop??? I assumed this because albums always release pretty photo-cards and multiple versions. 75% of fans buy the album for these pretty trinkets, and many also buy more than one due to how EVERY group releases multiple versions for collection purposes. Let's be honest, everyone else besides me buys these albums for everything BESIDES the CD, which was supposed to be the focal point of buying one anyway. Considering BTS is dominating the west, which primarily consists of people unable to buy albums, I'd say nothing would even change.
I.E: Arianators only have 50 sales, but all 50 of those albums sold are because the fans genuinely want her music to play as a CD.
Reveluvs have 300 sales, but most primarily consist of fans buying 6 versions to collect each photocard.

And BTS would still have money and popularity with shite sales. So in conclusion, having dramatically less sales for BTS would literally do NOTHING. They'd probably still top YouTube views, get music show wins, and be the current talk of our youth's generation.

ARMYs like to put their money where their mouth is. We understand the importance of supporting our faves by more than just fanwaring it on the Internet ;)
By now their importance and relevance is set in stone. Their achievements speak for themselves, their legacy would remain regardless of whether they'll still be able to pull out these frankly ridiculously good numbers. But the thing is - ARMY is a loyal fandom, and despite allegations to the contrary, with a large core base of adult fans.. Who work and have income to spare on an album or two per year, and will gladly do so to support their artist. and the younger ones are growing up too, getting jobs, starting to spend. We might see a slower increase rate of sales from one album to the next as the fandom stabilizes in size, and in a few years a slight decrease as members shuffle in the army. But that won't happen so soon :) and for sure not for the next comeback.
I expect Shadow to pull in CRAZY numbers.

    So to answer the question:
    1. it's unlikely ARMYs will stop buying ( we literally ASKED for their free mixtapes to be released on paid streaming sites so we could pay fir it)
    2. If it does happen, BTS would still dominate, since people will still take days off work to be at home when concert tickets go on sale, and will still devour any mjusic BTS puts out. If anything, their Spotify and iTunes numbers would probably pulverize any competition
    3. IF it happens, BT21 will outsell the whole industry. With income to spare from not buying albums, I'd just finally buy that Tata pillow i've been dreaming about :nervousk:
