Become sensitive to how I look and Korean beauty standards

Understand that behind their amazing songs and beauty, korean idols suffer so much and have to work very hard which means that I am not the only person going through hard times.

I was drawn to Kpop a few years ago when I saw Yoona in Love Rain. I learned that she was part of Girls' Generation, started watching their MVs on YouTube, and discovered OT9 and the world of Kpop. It's given me a whole new genre and subculture, and I'm fascinated by all of it, the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly. But the idols and fans are overwhelmingly good and beautiful.

I consider the Kpop fandom among the most knowledgeable in the world of music and the most open to sharing their passion. As in any fandom, there are a few dregs, full of hate and self-pity, but they're a minority, and the fact that they're tolerated says a lot about the Kpop fandom. The more I learn about this subculture, the more I want to learn.

I've learned everything I could about Soshi and every member, and I respect and admire all they've gone through to become the successes that they are. And through them I learned about other groups and their members, expanding the scope of my appreciation and enjoyment. Thank you, Kpop!

Kpop send me into toxic fanwars with delusional fans and made me fall more into depression. It didn't have a single positive effect on me

But kpop introduced me to some of the most talented people I've ever seen, like mamamoo, hyolyn, dreamcatcher, more interesting music like orange caramel, bts, sistar etc. Overall the music is much better than the repetitive crap from western artists
