I think it's the only gen dominated by girl groups if you combine all their success.
Boy groups also dominated
Just to name a few off the top of my head.
idk, i think just like the 3rd gen, gg do better digitally and have huge hit songs, while bg do very well in digitals
nope boy groups also did really well. Everyone was putting out hits after hits even the nuguest groups.
2nd Gen was BG domination
HM let me think of it ...
Brown Eyed Girls
3rd gen >>>>>
2nd gen is place of bops after bops, not only big 3, but other companies released many bops too!
I think it was around equal. Ggs dominated the charts, bgs physicals. Music show wins could go either way. Ggs and bgs were pretty popular on TV.
Depends on what you mean by dominated, but GGs had more hit songs than BGs I think
No, a lot of boy groups too though I noticed ggs have more massive hits from various groups.
Also, this may or may not matter but 2nd Gen has more groups who were successful than future gens. Like I could list at least 10 GGs and BGs who had a good level of fame in 2nd Gen but I can't do the same for 3rd
2nd gen was odd as the two biggest boygroups were not as present.
TVXQ - went from being the biggest of the gen and the first group in years to sell 500k with Mirotic, to falling apart with the split. So the biggest group essentially never even saw out the gen as a whole. It'd be like if EXO or BTS had a scandal and stopped promoting at their peak. So GG's already had a one up there.
Big Bang - routinely had a bunch of solos and breaks so were not as present as the biggest bg's of the 3rd gen are.
It's not a coincidence that 2PM had a short peak and were the biggest BG only in a time when BB weren't promoting and TVXQ had essentially stopped (I say this as someone that liked 2PM)
What do you mean with “Dominated”?
Just the whole renaissance of girl group interest and the fact that they dominated gallup.
