Dynamite since the beginning was more stronger than lgo, for example: even if it was in english, dynamite had more uls in the first 24 hrs. Dynamite didn't drop positions and got the no1 by the 5th day, before the hot100 was announced. 4 songs have topped melon since chart reform and except for dynamite all come from tv shows. Lgo without any promotion in SK climbed to top5 & stayed there, we saw akmu's happening chart performance; so lgo isn't doing bad but I don't think it's getting no1, I feel the lack of promotions killed its momentum. Also gp still isn't over dynamite. In the new melon tv & radio promotions are a must but bts haven't done either for years, and getting a no1 on hot100 to get a boots in Sk charts isn't sustainable.
#bigbrainthingz but you're right , tv and radio promotions is a must. but i don't think bts or BH cares much for their charting in S.K
Which is unfortunate tbh. I mean irregardless of charting it would be nice to see them on one or two sk shows.
Yeah we can now say people (us included) really underplayed Dyna's first few days of charting in SK. With this new system it actually already performed amazingly before any promo from the hot100. That's why we probably shouldn't compare the initial charting of any new bts song with that of Dyna, because he's just in a league of his own.
I think the success of Dynamite dwarfed BE/LGO, it was/is too big to ignore Dynamite even matched Anysong success, and beyond, that's how big it is though the new album is doing really well unpromoted, I'm not discounted the thought that GP loves ballads but, at least for this year (maybe it's the circumstances) most of the top songs were upbeat songs as for the one time thing, I don't know... there was BWL last year, now Dynamite, if bangtan release a song as pop-y as those, I can see it doing really well too
Kinda weird that these old ways of promoting are still so effective in SK when where I live hardly anyone cares about musicians promoting their songs on national television. But happy they do still care about it in SK because it's atleast one way for artists to get their songs noticed by the GP.
it's a demography thing, sk demography is at its lowest, as the aging population is rapidly increasing seniors are still more used to tv and radio (for now)
Akmu's comeback boosted their successful 1 year old song to top15. But their new song peaked for some hours at no7, then begun to drop to like #34. So yeah, old success can overshadow. In bts case sk still has dynamite in mind & right know bts has 2 songs on top5 & 3 Top10 (unless SL remix dropped). In context only 2 non-bts idol's songs: lsg & dingga have entered Top10 after chart reform. BE's besides also are charting with 0 promo. Overall bts is having an amazing performance on melon. And yeah, maybe sk prefers pop songs by bts. I only hope lgo has spring day longevity.
