1. Other than the usual stuff I listen to (indie, pop, R&B and so on) - I like cute, fun and upbeat songs. No, doesn't mean the songs I like are not of quality and are any less considered good music as opposed to your usual indie, hip hop, EDM, pop, rock or alternative songs. IT MEANS YOU AND I HAVE DIFFERENT MUSIC TASTES AND THAT THE MUSIC I LIKE DOESN'T CATER TO YOUR PREFERENCES. 2. BTS is not overrated. They create good music, that's why big icons like Steve Aoki, Desiigner, The Chainsmokers and Maroon 5 have collaborated/will collaborate with them. If BTS' music isn't half as good as people say it is, why does Niall Horran have over 14 hours of listening to BTS on his Spotify? Why would musical geniuses like Charlie Puth and Shawn Mendes acknowledge the artistry and incredibility of BTS' songs? To anyone that thinks their quality in music has "decreased" because DNA is no longer the same as BST, Spring Day, I NEED U etc - you people are probably the same fucktards that goes to idol groups and be like "I wish they would change their sound, it's getting old with this repetitive title track". Overrated is shit like the Paul Brothers or Gucci Gang, otherwise please fuck off. Any other unpopular opinions?
Bohemian Rhapsody is the greatest rock ballad ever. EDIT: Oh wait this is in KPOP. Uh... does that mean my opinion is invalid? Er... here's a KPOP one: Shinhwa is still hot.
While their (BTS) music is good, last album (the one with DNA) was horrible. ^ I dont like when idols show their abs.
Same lol that's why watching some MX's lives makes me uncomfortable. * Taeyeon is prettier than Yoona; * Hard Carry is one of my fave GOT7 songs.
I don't really think Kai & Sehun are the gods of dancing, there's alot of other idols who are much better than them like Yunho, Taeyang, Taemin, etc. They're only a bit above average....
I really like BTS vocal line and I think that V is the best singer in BTS I prefer RM rapping to suga I think that K-indie and ballads are better than Kpop I think sehun is an average dancer Blackpink Lisa is an average dancer (sorry but from what I've seen I don't think she can compete with sinb, momo or yooa) Irene is a better dancer than seulgi Sooyoung is the prettiest SNSD member Blackpink Jennie has a better voice that Rosie Twice is talented Suho should be exo's visual V should be BTS's visual I think got7 personalities (on camera, except Jackson) are annoying
Lets be honest, if most Kpop groups had the exposure BTS were getting right now then there would be collaborations all around. There are groups who sing great (better than bts), have great rappers, meaningful lyrics, have a close bond, write their own music and create great songs who just haven't had the exposure. I'm glad people love BTS, I use to be one of those people, but don't act like they're SO DIFFERENT SO UNIQUE in comparison to other groups. BAP, Monsta X and Ikon There, 3 groups who do the exact same stuff people praise BTS being unique for, that's just groups I follow alone, i'm sure there are more groups, even female groups, who do the same. BTS got their exposure from their fans, word of mouth, that's why they're popular. THAT is likely my unpopular opinion.
Ok, a person's opinion about a group being good or bad is totally subjective but the fact that some "big icons" are collaborating with them doesn't prove anything. They're just riding the hype that is Kpop nowadays. And to say that these american musicians create good music is totally questionable. Charlie Puth and Shawn Mendes are musical geniuses? WHAT? Like, really? I'm sorry but that is blasphemy.
I'm not big on mainstream pop, but yeah I think Charlie Puth and Shawn Mendes' songs are quite enjoyable. Not all American musicians but quite a number of them create good music - I happen to think Charlie Puth and Shawn Mendes come out with good music (i'm not big on mainstream pop btw). Is musical preference not subjective anymore now? I just don't understand how BTS is overrated when people like their music as it is (I LIKE DNA FIGHT ME) and they don't have big company's name to boost their fame from their rookie days. It took them 2 years to achieve the fame any big 3 group would've achieve post-debut and it took them a few more years to be the icons they currently are.
