Hey, I thought it would be cool if someone who knows good Thai music could share on here ~ I personaly don't listen to it so my knowledge is smaller than my last braincell is alive Here is the only Thai music I know:
Joox' weekly chart (on the thumbnail was a typo, it's 18 May not April) New update every Monday 7pm (Thai time). Joox is the most popular streaming platform after Youtube.
A boy group audition show with Nichkhun as a mentor to kick off on June 6. The boy group will be managed by iAm, the house of BNK48. I smell flop from the project. They don't understand the market. Thai girls/women like boys 17-18+ but many of these boys clearly are too young. Only few of them look fair. Besides, iAm has constantly fallen in mismanagement controversies.
Waii recently made a comeback to the music scene, she's one of my faves Here are some of her older songs if you're interested: Spoiler: Old but gold
Pretzelle, new Thai girl group with a former Cube's trainee The former Cube's trainee was the girl with chipmunk voice. The MV looked as if it was shot with 2,500 USD budget. This month 10 popular songs for karaoke on Joox application วาฬเกยตื้น (Wal Keoy Tuen - Washed Up Whale) - Gungun Long Jai (Heart Settled) - Bowkylion Same Page? - Tilly Birds ฝนตกไหม (Fon Tok Mai - Is It Raining?) - Three Man Down Nicotine - Mirrr คั่นกู (Kan Goo - Together) - Bright (2gether OST.) หมอก (Mok - Mist) - Colorpitch หรือฉันคิดไปเอง (Rue Chan Kit Pai Eng - Is It Imagination?) - Zom Marie เหนื่อยใจ (Nuai Jai - Weary) - Ink Unexpected - Jaylerr & Ice Paris
I loved 9x9, so sad they were only a project group. I know they are not professionals, but loved to see them together.
There is a thread about Thai pop music : https://www.allkpop.com/forum/threads/thai-pop.405592/ I made 2 playlists about Thai music : Introduction to modern Thai music (T-pop, rock and rap) for beginners : https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYQIztjilBVuDQ5JepI29XdEh78OsXmzH Music Videos with traditional Thai elements : https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYQIztjilBVt1zD6N0xqPjN7mCT9PIMhO I have found this page for the Thai pop soloists and groups : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Thai_pop_artists
Who is the number 1 soloist and the number 1 group male, female and overall in T-pop, Thai rap and Thai rock ?
Soloist Bird - Thongchai McIntyre Male group Trinity Female group BNK48 Rap Perhaps, Way (DaBoyWay), former Thaitanium's member, or Fucking Hero. Rock One between Carabao and Bodyslam Overall Bird - Thongchai McIntyre; you're not Thai citizen if you don't know Bird, even the king and the prime minister know him.
GMM to run international audition More information to be updated on https://www.instagram.com/gmmaudition/ GMM is the biggest music label of the country. However, its handing of girl/boy groups have been rubbish so far, inconsistent release, cheapass mv, dated bland song, lack of variety contents (it will just release the mv and the mv bts and the group will promote by just performing the song and being briefly interviewed on news programs). Also, GMM to hold an online concert on Vlive on 4-5 July. The concert will cost 600 coins.
Could somebody give me more music video with traditional Thai elements please ? I have already collected in my playlist the following music videos with traditional Thai elements : Music Videos with traditional Thai elements : https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYQIztjilBVt1zD6N0xqPjN7mCT9PIMhO
Did you mean visually (traditional costume, traditional dance etc.) or musically (traditional style singing, traditional music instrument etc.) or both? They are tons of songs with traditional/ folk music garnishes but with modern visuality. I focus on visuality here. Why your playlist full of Love Destiny OST.?
I thank you for your sharing of music videos with traditional Thai elements. I mean everything that has traditional Thai elements in it. I have a playlist full of Love Destiny OST because that are all the music videos with traditional Thai elements that I had found.
