One thing you often hear is that I-Fans are a bunch of dicks who shout loud, get involved in fan wars but never buy anything.

Is this strictly true? I mean I like comparing groups but I do put money into K-Pop. Has someone analysed international sales etc. to actually back this up

There's no excuse either as stuff like a single song on I-Tunes isn't exactly expensive either

    It's not about sales.
We are looked down upon because we are not K-fans. They think we shouldn't have a say about Korean artists or their culture; even though Koreans have been vocal about ours.

in defence its near impossible to buy official kpop merch (besides albums, but even the prices for those are inflated) to support artists if you live outside america. My european ass was close to tears yesterday bcs the “international” section in hmv (its like a half a shelf) was full of Love Yourself Her and one random ass £35 copy of Twice’s debut album lmao

I hate that I-fans are stereotyped as "rude idiots who don't buy anything and get in fanwars" cause I buy stuff and I'm very nice to other fandoms. I hate fanwars.

I don't stan Red Velvet, but I paid a p2 price ticket for their fanmeeting in Chicago.

Me doing that has helped RV more than streaming any and all their song.

Honestly, I don't really think the whole "they just talk but don't buy anything" is a 100% true. Maybe just 50%, because the other 50% is just because of the price (for the album AND the shipping), and in some regions the lack of places to buy. Also merchandise isn't exactly cheap either. And to top it all most can't afford to go to Korea to see their faves.

So kfans clearly have an advantage, which I doubt they take into account when accusing ifans. Plus aside from fanwars and negative advertising of groups, ifans are a huge force when it comes to voting (when we can), streaming and advertising. These things may not bring in the real money, but spreading the word helps the group to become more popular.
