their stylist reveal that am staffs and idols are paid the less in the industry for a top girl group. so I look it up and she's kind off true...

every Kara members in exception of youngji is richer than any of snsd members. heck, the only one that is up with them is yoona. and that is only becoz she work in China.
and I'm saying this because Kara sold less album than snsd.

and I'm not surprise that exo Chinese members left either. if I puts myself on their shoes, I would definitely go back to my own land and have more money than staying in hard industry like kpop and have less money.

I'm not surprise if in next few years, rv members income won't even be that much compared to mamamoo... I would says gfriend but I think gf are doing slightly better than rv so..

yeah, what do you think about this ?

I think it's annoying that I love SM idols/artists so much but hate the company with a passion

Should they not be doing better tho? The only thing they lack compared to RV is digital sales only and only for this year. They have more CF deals, attend at every festival (Not only upper class ones that big 3 groups do) and held tones of fanmeetings and concerts overseas. They also released more albums and sold more physically so...Yes they are obviously getting paid more. U can tell it by the new dorm and the i-phones they bought.

I'm not really sure. But reasons why group members left was because of unfair distribution of income. But I think they're rich enough tbh. Cfs, guest shows and dramas does them wonder as well. But who knows what happened behind those doors. :whatr:

I could be wrong on this as I am just basing it on what I've see someone else say once before. But upon contract renewals the percentages swing more towards the artists favour.
I read that the SNSD members apparently make 90% of the profits. Though whether that percentage is true I don't know. But I do know that the members are rich af.

i did said that they're doing better. the only reasons i adds slight is because theres not that much of huge gap between them.. like rv and twice...

exactly lol, it's definitely not a wrong choice for him tbh.

It's so sad to think that if SM had the same policies as YG, Exo would have been hella ballin right now. They still make mad money but it's not the full extent of what they could have made if SM wasn't so greedy.

Yes it is. Considering that SM artists are pretty strong in physicals.

There could of course be deviations for different groups inside a company.
Either way, if you think about a physical album for example brings in 1.000.000$. Then 10% are still 100.000$. So divided through 8 members this would still be a total of 12.500$ per member. And this would be just the income from the physical sales.
It's not fair but not that bad.

Ironically SM groups sweet spot is out of country, but I think they promote in country more than YG and JYP.
30/70 depending on activity could easily make up the difference, there is so much money in play outside of Korea.

The album split looks bad but I am not sure exactly how much money is at play here; ie is it just the net profit that gets split(for sure it is not over all gross). I think the vast majority of album money goes to production and royalties. The overhead on a album is crazy unless the artist is writing the songs.

Other than the album split and the non Korean split the rest is the same.

To sum up i think if they are active outside of korea at all the SM groups are making >= any of the other acts with similar activity.

Money for physical albums, yes. However, if we consider events and tours, then SM artists have more money distribution considering most of them are more popular eg tvxq, exo and shinee. And they have more tours and events as well.

Judging by the price of clothes they're wearing to the airport, no, I don't think so.
