Expensive stuff normally seems to do wonders.
You could also try out some Lush stuff (which is slightly pricey), I know their acne serum works pretty well (tee tree oil mixed in) but will break you out for the first week or so and will require a moisturiser. Honestly, I found finding a moisturiser much harder than a good cleanser/toner

I do double cleaning, moisturizing, nourishing, retinoid (for my acne and because it's the only proven anti-rimple medicine).
    I do a mask 2-3 times a week.

I always try to follow all 10 steps of cleaning, nourishing and moisturizing and I also think that it's extremely important not to skip any of them

my tips for acne prone skin:

    1. double cleansing esp when you're wearing makeup
    2. exfoliate using scrub or mud masks once a week, I use St.Ives' Apricot mask or Himalaya's Purifying Neem Mask
    3. LUSH tea tree water, use it as toner!
    3. Tea Tree Oil works wonder for me, when I have acnes or pimples I just dab some directly on them and they alway go away faster. I use the one from a brand called Thursday Plantation but you can use any brand

    Morning:
    -Antibacterial acne gel cleanser (trisan)
    -Vitamin C morning foam cleanser
    -Toner
-Moisturizing sunscreen (all year long, every day)
    -Primer and rest of makeup
    Night:
-Foam cleanser (different one from the morning)
    -Gel cleanser (same one)
-Exfoliating cream/scrub/cleanser (not always, if I didn't wear makeup that day I'll skip)
-Clay mask (once or twice a week)
    -Toner
-Sheet mask (same day as clay mask)
    -Essence
    -Moisturizer
-Tea tree oil as spot treatment
    (wait 30 min)
Rinse with cold water, benzoyl peroxide cream overnight
***If it's winter, or my skin is exceptionally dry, I'll use a 5% urea cream after my toner or my essence (if it's night), twice a day, until it goes back to normal***
    ---------------------------
Drink your water, sleep your hours.
The reason why my routine is so extra is because I juggle between makeup nearly everyday (the more you wear it, the more you have to take care of your face) and my skin is originally pretty bad, had to see a dermatologist and such, so maintaining a good skin when it's naturally very bad isn't easy. Yes I do maintain this routine, yes my skin is very thankful.

wash your face and then apply cream. You can wash your face with milk as well.
