Thanks for all the great tunes for the last 10 years!!!

Today, March 5, 2016 was the farewell concert for FLiP. They announced a couple of months ago that the energy to keep going as a group of 4 was gone. After today, they announced they will be going on hiatus and will likely be going their own way. Their last concert was today at TSUTAYA O-West. All members expressed their thanks and tears on their individual twitter accounts. Sad day.

They were such a polished and tight band. They will be sorely missed.

Some more insight from another forum I'm on....with folks that read more of the underground Japanese media surrounding this.

It seems Sachiko was more of a "rather burn out than fade away" personality. Rumor is that Def records was not supporting them well, and when they moved up to the 'big time' and Universal, the record company tried to turn them into a Jpop girl group. Hence the huge change from the raw Love Toxicity tour (above) to the next album, 'Birth' and the single "Girl". That didn't sit well at all with fans, who left in droves, or the band members, who were rockers to the core. They decided to go out on a high.

Great exit and a great band. Yes....looking for a reunion one day...and a re-emergence as Indie.

The downfall ......catchy tune, but largely viewed (by me as well) as a forced abortion for this band thanks to Universal. Almost impossible to believe this is the same band as the live performance above.

Looks like they responded as all good bands should.....with a big FU.
