Really didn't enjoy this, mainly because of the glaring stupid physics issues. And am I correct that in one of the first scenes the main character is actually climbing down a ladder? In space?!
It all seemed a bit random too.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold.
Very enjoyable and funny. If people were even 1/10th as nice and friendly as the main character the world would be a lot better for it.

Maps to the Stars (2014) 5/10

Always been a fan of David Cronenberg films. A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, The Fly & The Dead Zone (a brilliant adaption of a Stephen King book to film).

I found it by chance on iPlayer and agree with Amazon reviews. Its bonkers. Not what I expected at all, essentially Hollywood's darker sides, the narcissism, also a bit of Carrie. I kind of want to watch again as there are nuances which probably flew over my head first time around. I get the dark side of Hollywood but the rest...

    JoJo Rabbit - 7.5/10

Brilliant! I loved it. Typical Waititi humour, ranging from the subtle and sublime to overt farce but juxtaposed against human tragedy all portrayed from the viewpoint of a 10 year old boy. Some parts of Waititi's performance of Hitler were genius. I've heard the critics are split, giving it 1/5 or 5/5 and I can understand that, his humour isn't for everyone. So if you liked What we do in the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople then you'll like this too, if not, don't bother

A Fall From Grace (Netflix) - run of the mill murder, court film that really suffered from just being too long. 90 mins would sufficed but was much longer due to dragging out parts. Ending was alright but all just a bit flat throughout. 4/10

One of the films I consider as infinitely re-watchable. I was doing some cleaning and was arranging my blu rays when I decided to watch some of the movies I haven't seen in a while. Still holds up and it's as good as the first time I have seen it. Definitely in my top 5 Edgar Wright film.

I give it a 10/10, which is really rare, because I’m not really a movie person. But everything about this movie is great and iconic. Totally deserves its reputation.

Finally got around to watching Roma on Netflix last night.

I had a pang of emotion throughout the final third (as much as I could since the events were pretty much foreshadowed on the side of a freight train), but tbh I was more connected/intrigued by the over the top cinematography and wide tracking shots than anything going on in the thread bare plot. There wasn't enough substance for me to become immersed as what the critics and cheerleaders of the film have reported.

Technical rating of 8/10. Enjoyment rating of about 5/10.

Been doing my Ghibli marathon and some other animations, so I will rank them!

Castle in the Sky 9.5/10 (Almost perfection in form of animation, very Ghibli-ish too!)
Ocean Waves 4/10 (It would be so much better as a gay love story, because the girl is toxic and annoying AF, I really don't care about the characters and they are not memorable)
Porco Rosso 8.5/10 (Nice movie to watch and enjoy! Needed an extra layer of emotion to go up to my favorites ever tho)
Modern Heroes 7.5/10 (Nice short movies! First one is a bad attempt of copying Ghibli and the last one is really nice)
Prince of Egypt 9/10 (Best songs and visually STUNNING!)

Going to watch Tales from Earthsea soon, wish me luck, it doesn't seem so much better than Ocean Waves.

    - Margot Robbie was amazing (I love her)
    - Suicide squad references
    - aesthetics
    - OST
    - kinda a sucker for girl power movies
    - dark humor
    - Cassandra and Harley's relationship

Boy from Taika Waititi, brilliantly funny and sad little film from New Zealand about a boy who dreams of his dad returning but when dad does all us not perfect. 4/5

As an Osgood Perkins film, It looked good that much I can say. But this is more I Am the Pretty Thing that Lives in the House than The Black Coat's Daughter. The trailer may have given the impression that this would be something along the lines of The Witch but it's not. Both are basically a coming-of-age story but I think The Witch is more successful in delivering its message than this one. Overall, I think it's an okay movie but it wouldn't knock your socks off.

Breakfast Club is one of those movies where it's very re-watchable and holds up IMHO.
