Watched Sunshine for the first time in maybe 6/7 years on a whim.
What a soundtrack.
What a film.
Greta (2019) - 6/10
A passable thriller which gets a bit silly towards the end.
The story is good enough and Greta is sinister, but the rest of the acting feels a bit flat and it tends to go for style over substance, running out of good ideas in the final act.
Captain marvel, loved it! Funny, great action and goose is awesome so awesome I think goose should kill thanos lol
Teen spirit (2019) 7/10
Elle Fanning is a pretty good singer, I loved the music but the movie overall was eh okay
Another 48 hours. Decent enough film. Although the dynamic between Nolte and Murphy isn't as strong as the first. Not quite a classic, but worth a watch.
Iron Sky 2 : The Coming Race - Hot Garbage/10 if taken seriously but 10/10 for funny cringe - Like Sharknado, the Iron Sky series is a cultural oddity, where the film is purposely meant to be "so bad it's good" yet unlike Sharknado the Iron Sky franchise hasn't quite gone viral yet.
A Star is Born
Lady Gaga did pretty good in the movie. Bradley Cooper was okay too. I hated the uneven sound quality, which wasn't good for me since I have hearing issues anyway. The majority of the songs were good. I didn't like the choppy transitions, a lot of the dialogue was drowned out by music, and I just wasn't a fan of the overall cinematography. The movie could have been shorter (IMO) as it was slow in parts. For it being one of the most talked about movies of last year, I wasn't that impressed. It was alright.
I JUST watched La Femme Nikita dir Luc Besson (1991)
It is sooooo sexy and stylish DEAR GOD it's premise is quite original for it's time and although it's Besson so it's going to be naturally pg13 and campy BUT it looked nothing like that
I can't stop thinking about it, I really want tp watch more movies like that
Edit: I forgot to rate it 8.5/10
I saw The Fountain in theaters when it came out. It had so much potential to be better than it was. The plot was interesting, but the overall execution just wasn't up to par. I can see why the film got scrapped for a spell. It could have been better. My rating is 5/10: Wasn't good, wasn't bad.
Ikr....it stays with you though
Wind River 10/10
The first act is a bit of a slow burn but it picks up pretty quickly in the 2nd act. The story and characters are great and towards the end you really get a sense of how sad and terrible things are for native americans. It's a great movie, I know now why it got so much praise lol
That's true! 13 years ago is when I saw it, and I still remember it, so that's something.
I love that movie 3.5/5 for me!
Ah that long ago??
Yep. My ex and I saw it at the theater the year it was released.
Rambo: First Blood - 9/10.
Rewatched this via UHD Blu-Ray and it looked brilliant. Such a great film, I only discovered it a few years ago having mistakenly thought it would be like the sequels and it isn’t at all. Now one of my favourites I think
if we talk Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi , 5/10 (for Star Wars title)
in the end, its like producers finally destroyed all old heroes
only in order to promote and link their new newbie heroes.
I'd rather stick with Episode IV-VI, and seldom Episodes I-III (at least in these Lucas himself
messed with the lore and things) Rogue1 is OK too.
Episode IX for popcorn only.
Moonlight 7 or 8/10
I don't know for all the hype it had it was quite underwhelming. My favorite scenes were the ones with Juan and Teresa though, I felt those were the better acted and interesting.
Rocketman (2019) - 9/10
Absolutely loved it. I'd normally avoid musicals like the plague, but being a fan of Elton John's music I thought it would be worth a look. Taron Egerton, who I'd only seen before as Teddy Smith in the Kray pic 'Legend', completely nails Elton's emotional vulnerability and obnoxiousness.
