i really hope they have a target audience in mind yikes. gc is good if you're either aiming for the west (hard if you're not big3 or alr established) or if you're from yg/cube who has experience with "swag" groups, which are less "idol-y" i really dont want them to become dreamcatcher 2.0, where they are a third tier group which has an excellent concept, but are running on the edge of disbanding

They’re likely gonna be a non concept specific group (like Loona), and more known for their skills & presence Mamamoo didn't pop off immediately and were a niche group for a bit, so Purple Kiss isn’t gonna immediately soar high in comparison unless their debut is that likeable I doubt they’ll be a GC group either, which thank goodness, GGs are doing that concept too much now
its really sad that we have to think of concept before we think of their skills and a good song. i dont want them to be another loona either, cuz loona only survived because of stan twitter and their crazy ass small fandom. i was really hoping they'd be an elegant vocal group, like mamamoo, like their previous teasers but i guess we gotta see now
Loona lasted because they have amazing songs & a likeable lineup. Also like Mamamoo, they came from a new company, so they didn’t have much to go by, and the fact that they’re as huge as they are now, especially becoming the 1st non big 3 GG to rank Billboard Top 200, says a lot about their success, and in only 2 years of existing at that Also it wouldn’t be interesting if Purple Kiss were exactly like Mamamoo, cuz then they’d just be a 2.0 version of their own seniors, and that’s just as bad as YG repeating 4 member GC with their GGs over & over again I do see Mamamoo inspiration due to their skills & such, but they’ll likely be closer to traditional idols, of course with their own unique style, whatever that may be

The biggest groups out now needed time, so you gotta let PK get their time Cuz good music with a unique style that fits them is better than forcing an identity that’s not them just for what’s assumed to be more public friendly While wanting success for your faves is good, having enjoyable music is more important than how they’ll do on charts, and for a debut at that, which this isn’t even
i dunno if this makes sense, but i think that if the prerelease of a song is bad, less people check future stuff out. for a nugu group that can be even worse. not everyone will know that its a prerelease, they'll listen to it, not like it, and not check stuff about purple kiss again. maybe i'm just exaggerating but each time people release a pre release, i think it gets more attention than the title track but idk, example hylt and lsg, dinga and aya, but then again, this could just be me worrying lol
Those are from well established groups and were official comebacks, this is a debut prerelease and is one of many projects before their actual debut, so it can’t be compared Most people are liking what they hear so far, so Purple Kiss is gonna be fine
