I'll mix BGs and GGs...Basically these are known groups that have at least a comeback this year (let me know if I somehow miss some groups - groups not SUBUNITS but I cannot add anymore groups tbh lol), my favs so far are (random order): (G)I-DLE - Amazing debut song and album, all songs were so good - Members are very easy to remember, all have distinct personality and visuals - Soyeon charisma is no joke, Yuqi and Minnie are very charming, Soojin a stage beast, Shuhua is a backstage kiddo - Cho Miyeon rocketed to be my UB BLACKPINK - FINALLY they were back! - Snatched and broke records here and there - Album was BOPs all over - Jisoo was improving so much, Jennie crying on RM was so iconic that she will shows up again soon there BTS - Fake Love hype perhaps the biggest I've got so far in kpop - Slayed the BBMA's - They gave me proof as why they are the kings right now - not just empty hype BTOB - Just learned about them this year tbh (I'm so late I know) - Kept playing Movies & Missing You (their BOPs in 2017) - Only One for Me somehow is one of my best song this year CLC - Black Dress was my banger this year - All members are very enjoyable to follow - Definitely needs more recognition based on 2018 comeback Yeah I'm basically a CUBE trash this 2018 haha... 1. !!!! BLACKPINK !!!! 2. BTS 3. (G) - IDLE 4. APINK 5. CLC I wanted to include Mamamoo, because they are so talented and I love their music, but I can't seem to like them as a group.
1. Blackpink (Most successful comeback of 2018 so far imo, amazing debut album sales and broke a lot of records) 2. BTS (Fantastic album with amazing lyrics, album sold nearly 2M) 3. Twice (Great sales and updated choreo plus catchy songs but are we surprised?) 4. G-Idle (Debut was so good, they have a bright future as a group) 5. Momoland/Ikon (Digital index points speak for themselves and Soty material)
SHINee: they came back from a tragady that can destroy groups. I have a lot of respect for them being able to continue on despit how much pain you could tell they were in and how that still continue to remember jonghyun and pay tribute to him. Super junior: we're only one member away from being a full group again in 8 years. Got mad resoect for them having continue on with constantly changing members due to military service.
My favorites (based on 2018 alone) in no particular order: Red Velvet CLC Mamamoo GFriend Twice Dreamcatcher would be in this group, but they're not a poll option so I left them out. Also only picked girl groups (sorry).
