Just wondering what the % is male/ female ratio on here as they say the majority of Kpop fans are female. Personally I thought there’d be a lot of guys into it with hotties like Blackpink, Twice, Red Velvet to name a few, plus their songs are good so there’s a reason to stick around :D

I think a lot of them just don't have an interest in the music.

I think most guys are into rap, rock and heavy metal. Kpop is just far too sweet for them

i would guess because they think it's 'gay' to like pop music, and they're afraid of looking less masculine cause they can get down to cutesy music like Twice or whatever. another guess would be because the edgy guys who like to vocalize their stupid opinions say it's strictly for 'brain-dead teenage girls'.

"Because Pop music is for the gays and fangirls. It's easier for men to like rock and rap. Even indie music is more acceptable for guys to like than pop music."

That's at least what I've noticed.

Also there is this whole thing with xenophobia in America so that is another factor that keeps a lot of males away from liking kpop in specific.

Music is definitely a part of it - if Twice were shit musically it would be a real downer,I literally got into K Pop because of Likey which opened a world of searching for their songs / variety shows etc. Had it been a lame-ass number I doubt if I would have bothered.

It is true that the girls from the big 3 are really beautiful, however they have a different appeal that doesn't really stick to the western standard. For example, it's difficult that all western guys are into the aegyo of Twice or the weird outfits of RV if you're raised in a culture where pop icons are meant to be spicy and sexy.
A good example: korean guys go crazy with a beautiful girl misspelling an english word (the shashasha effect). That wouldn't happen in a million years in the west. On the other hand, you have Ariana Grande, a girl that tries her best to look older or more mature. Same for that kardashian girl.
    (I'm a guy btw)
