Everyone wanted Twice to change to girl crush just to suit the west but now those same people are complaining that cute is dead. Twice was the only group that was keeping it alive, tbh.
I miss cute TWICE too. I literally can support any TWICE concepts. They are amazing. I am somehow sick of girlcrush nowadays.
Cute Twice is what defined Twice. We, long time Once, loved their natural cuteness both on and off stage. It's actually why I got into kpop.
I only ever liked cheer up, likey and knock knock from them I know they wanted to change but their more 'mature' songs just sound and visually look really outdated (their outfits nowadays are a huge no-no) Tbh they sounded somehow more natural and at ease with the cutesy songs
This is me but I liked loa, cheer up, tt and then fell off with likey cause it felt too similiar. I did like signal though and their last major comeback wasn't bad but it felt a little generic to me. It didn't feel unique to twice like tt did. I think twice had the opposite problem of bp for me. I saw them TOO much and got burnt out
As a non-once, I liked I Can't Stop Me and specially Cry For Me more then their other songs. But I'm not their target audience, so, whatever.
Twice being overexposed with the cute concept is why they're in a position where they're not taken seriously for their talents and artistry. Only western outlets that barely knew of Twice pre the change give them any props whereas others can't take them seriously doing different concepts. Their entire brand in SK being built on cute title tracks has been pretty detrimental in the longer run. What is Love is as good as cute songs get though so the views here are understandable.
Sometimes I dont understand what people actually want from Twice. You shit on them when they do cute concept and now mourned it after they released a quality song like Cry For Me.
They just went from ICSM to Cry for Me and returned to do a cute Christmas Merry and Happy followed by a chic ICSM version. Twice can easily fall back into doing cute stuff without any negative feedback imo. They could do a cute come back this year and people wouldn't cause a hubbub.
