    This showed up in my Instagram feed, since I follow Hey Violet

    Apparently they've had some slight ties for awhile, but this is especially interesting.
    Will anyone go to the tour just to see them? Is anyone a 5SOS fan who's excited about this combo? Not exactly my field, but I invite y'all to discuss.

    Been recognized as the female 5SOS, even though they have a male member. They do the same kind of pop-punk music. I personally like them because they're serious geeks, it's awesome. The kind of people even I would've been friends with in school.

    I am glad they have the opportunity.
    I feel bad for them having to play under a group as painfully generic as 5SOS, but I am not ungrateful for the opportunity for them.

    I listened to a few of their songs~ I LIKE IT SO MUCH! :D I was thinking at first that they'd be like PVRIS but pop-punk is definitely the type of music that I listen to so this is good ^^ But they've got no studio album yet?

    Looks like they'll be in Camden. Closest they get to me is Charlotte.

    Tickets are probably expensive so I'll wait for an actual HV tour to go see them. I'm not the type to go to a show just for the opening acts, since I can usually go see whoever it is for much, much cheaper eventually.
    Also, um, I'm not going to Camden. And I don't know why they are. If you want the Philly crowd just go to Philly. I have no doubt there are plenty of people, especially in suburbs, who would refuse to take their kids to Camden for a show.

    It's great stuff, I love their EP a lot. No full albums but they're building up an audience so hopefully it'll come soon. They had a full album back when they were Cherri Bomb and they had a different lead vocal and were doing hard rock, but I haven't gotten into Cherri Bomb (a lot of people would hate me for saying this but I think their lead vocal at the time was kind of an asshole, it puts me off). You might like that too but it's really an entirely different sound. I hardly consider Cherri Bomb and Hey Violet the same band.

    calum's already (allegedly???) dating nia and i feel like this is the straw that broke the camel's back.
    i literally think they're just using 5sos for publicity ;-;

    I mean... of course they are.
    It's a fantastic way to pick up fans in a market they don't have popularity in (mainstream western punk-pop music).
    That's really what every opening act has ever been: using another artist to pick up fans.
