Koga formed the band after leaving her former band, Pink Panda, in 2009. She wanted to stay true to her roots as an innovative rock group, rather than bend to the record label desires to lean more towards Pop tunes. They released their first maxi-single titled Lock On!! in March 2010. Obviously, the cover art is about as edgy as it gets. And...here it is...their first single.... Most of the members have been involved in the Jrock scene since the early 2000s. Over the years, the band has developed an image of a combination punk-rock-idol group that intentionally defies most attempts to stereotype them into any particular genre. They have a unique signature in the Jrock/Jpop arena as not quite fitting into any traditional mold. When most people are asked to name the top 5 All Girl Jrock bands, Gacharic Spin usually makes the list. Over the years, the band has been anchored by the talents of 3 of the founding members: Slap bass phenom and leader Koga Michiko (F Chopper Koga), drummer Hana Sano, and lead guitarist Tomoko Midorikawa (Tomozo)**. All 3 have, in addtion to regular albums, produced instructional videos on playing techniques. (**Note: Tomozo was not actually an original 'founding' member per se. She replaced Eita, who was only with the band a few months in 2009. However, she was the lead guitarist in late 2009, and was promoting with them when they made their debut single and first PVs.) Koga and Tomozo are regular CF endorsers of several guitar and bass products, and are frequently featured in Japanese Bass and Guitar Player magazines. Initially, the band was formed as a quartet, with vocalist Armmy (blonde above) as the frontwoman. However, Armmy left the band in 2012 mid-tour due to health reasons. Armmy passed away in 2015 from unspecified causes. Very early promotional band image with Armmy, circa 2010. (L-R Hana, Armmy, Tomozo, Koga) During this period in mid 2012, the band underwent several rebuilding changes, recruiting keyboard player Reona Suzuki (a former bandmate of Tomozo in Eu Phoria), and several support vocalists to help complete their previously contracted tour. One of these, Fuki, the lead vocalist from the band LightBringer, became a hit with fans. As a result, the band formed a colaboration effort with Fuki to create the fictional band "Doll$Boxx", and released an album entitled "Dolls Apartment". The album was both a fan-base and commercial success, propelling the group into mainstream recognition, and becoming their most successful album. (L-R Reona, Koga, Fuki, Tomozo, Hana) In 2014, the band further enhanced their performance ensemble by adding two dancing 'performers' to the group, Mai (Performer #1) and Arisa (Performer #2). These very animated and lively members were added to enhance the band's ability to get close to the audience, and more actively engage them in the show. Arisa left the group in 2015 and was replaced by Nenne (Performer #3). The band has often been referred to as the hardest working band in Japan, due to their grueling tour schedule of up to 100 shows per year. In addition to their tour schedule, the band regularly appears at various annual Japanese and Korean rock festivals, as well as frequent appearances on both radio and television.
