Welcome to the official feedback thread! So, we have been asked if it was possible to have a thread were you all will be able to give feedback or suggestions for staff members - it was furthermore added that it should be anon, but we all know that some might use it as a free pass to shade and bash; so we decided to go with a good old normal thread ^^ The purpose of this thread is not to have a free room to throw shade - since thread bans will be given easily; but rather give you all a chance to tell us what worked good and what maybe should be fixed/changed. You can have a civil discussion with the members about possible changes in their area - or just drop a suggestion/feedback for the team work and leave it at that. Though expect some kind of answer since the purpose is to improve ~ Please don't confuse this with the other thread. You can't ask for threads to be locked or badges in here, please use the respective threads for that (for moderator help, use the Ask A Staff Member thread in my signature). This thread isn't for suggestions and additions to the forum (use the suggestion thread for that). So use the thread for suggestions and feedback for the teams only - and remember that forum rules still applies to the thread ^^ Violation of the rules, antagonizing staff or using the thread for anything beside it's original purpose can result in temporarily or permanently thread ban and each case will be deal with as a normal report (verbal warnings and such can be given too) For more moderation specific suggestions and feedback, we recommend using the official moderation thread for feedback though! - Love from, the AKP Team ~
I know this will be taken the wrong way entirely but I was wondering what the purpose of the event team is, yes they've hosted some events but so have non-event team members as well. So what is the purpose and point of having them? I hope this isn't taken the wrong way.
They host forum wide events, the big ones which take a lot more resources. As for rewards,in event related cases I only listen to the official events team if they ask for things to be rewarded as whats the point in having events if everyone could host their own with their own decided rewards? They wouldn't be special anymore.
They could, but having a team handling the events and helping users out with events is generally easier, instead of having 100 users asking awards and prices - then it is up for the event team to decide and do it. And as for now, only event team's events have awards ^^
I mean mafia is a pretty big forum wide event if you ask me and regular users host those all the time. I guess?
Well, they're big but they won't be recognised as an official event to grant rewards Such as in a school,a class hosts their own project but that won't really grant you as grand of a reward as lets say a whole school project
But my point was why can't users just work with the awards team to accomplish that instead of it only being limited to those who run the events team?
Awards team deal with badges, not rewards such as titles or certain special grants I'm not sure why awards team should handle something they didn't sign up to do (a.k.a help with events)
Because not all events are big enough to be having a price. By having one team that deals with that and decides which events needs a price and make official events - then we will have more gathering. As you can see, many people participated in the latest event and it was a success. We can't promote all events users make, and by having it limited to event team members and their events, then we also spare ourselves from further problems. Beside events members of course also help out users if they want it - that way everyone can host an event, even if they need help
I thought the awards were supposed to be special badges though?? Like unique badges, isn't that in the awards team realm of expertise?
I heard the last event was a mess...no offense. It also seems kind of biased to have a set group of people deciding what is worthy of a prize and what isn't tbh. But I'll drop it.
Well, we're currently still busy with the start-ups for the badges. After the groups, we'll have k-soloists, j- & c-pop artists and then OTP badges. It might take a while by the time we're finished. Plus, we host threads for groups that have no OPs but suggesters only and we make sure that we can make some badges when there aren't a lot of suggestions And currently, it's a bit slow down because Tear is busy irl and I have exams too, so poor Gar has to do the work alone now... But if a user wants to host a big event like the maffia game, I guess they can ask Events to make it an official event so they can host a prize
yeah but getting a special badge every time? It wouldn't turn out to be as special anymore ngl atm the last event winners have a decorated titles for 2 weeks which they seem to like so it seems kind of limited having it just be special badges
Well, I can tell you it wasn't. It was a huge success that let many of us have a great time - beside their hard work that payed off very well. What you have heard might be some being annoyed by not winning - though I am quite sure if you ask most people, it was great. And that is the same though, their events get prices, other events don't - what is the difference if you then let award team decide as you suggest? I fail see how that is biased, when we had open auditions for event members and everyone had the chance.
I was thinking like personalized badges like the one I made for my cat. That way none of them are alike and they belong to that user alone. But I'll just drop it even though I still don't really see the point.
Oh it wasn't cause they didn't win XD No I mean the awards team determining which events are worthy and which aren't it makes it so bias can happen. But like I said I'll drop it even though I didn't really get my answer no offense.
