Probably. I follow few IU fan accounts on twitter and almost everyday there's someone new from industry (kpop idols, k-hiphop artists, singers, actors) talking about IU, she's that big in Korea. So I'm pretty sure when she releases her album it will get #1 on charts with very high ULs like SSAK3 (~700k).
It was subtle, I thought. Jimin's voice is usually quite piercing (and divisive) so I'm not entirely surprised. Less subtle on Suga's verse (although not actually very noticeable on Spotify tbh) but overall less than I hear even on other kpop songs Don't think it's at all comparable to other autotuned songs like in hip hop I thought you meant the whole song but if not, my bad I didn't think those parts would put people off the song
IU is IU she has survived every chart change and she still slays. she will break the charts once she releases , i'm not bothered about that. i'm just curious to see if she will reach 1M unique listeners.
That's cool and all but as mentioned if the melody isn't strong enough I'm not big on auto-tune on slower songs so not sure on the should have known part. Auto-tune in hip-hop that works Auto-tune Korean song with a strong melody that I like (Magic Shop is the only one that sticks for me from BTS)
The GMA performance of LGO, while amazing, has a lot of it. Jin's line at about 2:28 is insanely processed. You can't listen to that note and tell me it's not heavily corrected with how computerized it sounds. Vocal processing is more than the "T-Pain" sound. It often sounds a lot more subtle and is harder to notice.
I know it's more than the T-pain sound, artists don't usually go completely raw on the track (or even live). I just didn't think LGO was anything close to over the top, and that was in context of what the user I was having a conversation with was talking about, which was a song like VVS. I don't know why you are bringing up GMA because I wasn't talking about live performances, just the studio track. I assumed non fans don't watch their american promo but you seem to for some reason... Spoiler: Another performance for you :)
Congratz to bts and armys for the nomination, I have my own thoughts abt award shows since i dont think they are ever fair and i feel sad as an Asian that ppl are accepting over a nomination rather than a win at a big category for an act like bts, so I never really cared abt any of them. For me achieving a bbhot 100 #1 or a good charting overseas is always more important bc it is fully dependent on success in that country, not some decision made by a few people who can be biased. Still it is an achievement and I am sure it will boost dynamite on kcharts as well
Award shows are never really totally fair. I never bothered with-it for the awards just the performances. Its okay if we dont give an eff about it but artists will always want to win an award bc it feels like an accomplishment and a nod to their hard work. And as fans We can only support them. tbh a lot of ARMYs were getting tired of the Grammys and we just want BTS to get a nom (and maybe a win) to make them happy and hopefully close this chapter in their careers.
The VVS song is getting PAKS and is almost at 600k ULs. Now if someone tells me that TV promo will not get you high chart positions I will laugh at them.
