MAMAMOO - A GLOBAL PLAYER IN MUSIC
MAMAMOO Takes 8th Win For “Starry Night” On “Inkigayo”
I hope they got #1 at digital this week
Why must blinks hijack every thread appreciating the achievements of one of the new gen girl groups
As far as I know of, they did it twice (excluding the other 2 that you've mentioned). But meh...
I just want to show you sth. You can think watever you want.
On their concert they made a parody of Bruno Mars’ song. They sang and made a full parody video(i will find it later)And this is their “blackface”:
Now let’s see what are usually koreans doing when they do blackface:
What I’m trying to say is that the initial purpose of the blackface is to make fun of black people’s features. Mamamoo didn’t use a race as a joke. All they did is a parody of a song.
If I dress like Nick Fury on halloween (because i love his character) will you call me out for doing a blackface? It would be stupid because my purpose is completely different and that’s what I want you to understand because lately the borders of appropriate and inappropriate are nonexistent.
+ evry moomoo knows that hwasa is the biggest rihanna (black woman) fan
This is Bomi fom Apink. Not mamamoo...
Oppss sorry. My mistake. I guess they did have only one then.
The label for the pic which you copied-pasted with your own fingers literally states that it's Bomi....
Like if you're going to bring receipts why would you not make sure they're legit. And this is exactly what the rabble on Stan Twitter do ad nauseum. I'm tired.
she may have not been offended, but others were
You didn’t even read my comment. Did you?
Oh I had thought they did it more than once. The other thing was Hwasa using the N word.
I'm sorry, that Bruno Mars incident was gross and, as a huge Mamamoo fan, I'm not here for anyone trying to defend it or equivocate. That's the whole reason why their apology -- fairly unprecedented in Kpop -- is so important and is the sole saving grace of a truly foul moment in Mamamoo's history.
Some people may not have found it offensive, some people may think that a member loving a Black artist somehow negates the harm but it really doesn't and I'm not sure why we're even having this goddamn redundant discussion in a simple thread that was meant to merely celebrate how well this group has been doing in spite of the odds.
I hate this place, bloody hell.
Hwasa was covering Bey's 'Irreplaceable', and she was using the lyrics in Melon, which do have the N-word in them. None of them are English speakers and any English songs they cover they merely learn by rote using the lyrics they find. So I'm willing to let that one go. Others aren't. Whatever.
What does that old black face incident have to do with Mamamoo’s comeback success?
A thread praising Mamamoo is becoming a thread where Blinks can throw all their saltiness about Mamamoo being one of the top 3 (and until BP gets out of the dungeon they'll stay that way) and a thread where blackface is being mentioned... Like I know some of you get pressed when it comes to someone else becoming successful but some of us don't need to read all that negativity
Starry Night is definitely one of the best songs of 2017 and deserves it’s spot.
Broooo why are you downgrading Yong Junhyung
He currently topped them all lol
Seriously, though. That song is a bop listen to it.
Edit: It’s sad that literally no one in allkpop talks about his bop.
It's true MAMAMOO's latest piece really slayed and I personally really loved it, they might slay for the whole 2018 for all I know.
You saying BP got their fame and recognition only thanks to YG it's the biggest joke. MAMAMOO and BP as well are popular thanks to their hardwork and talent. Nothing more.
I've made a mistake. It happens. And I've apologized. Done deal with it will ya.
