Congratulations to Eclipse! #3 Eclipse (Kim Lip) defeated #1 Heart Attack (Chuu) in the LOONA Soloist Tournament Championship! It was an interesting ride for Eclipse that almost ended before the semifinals, but it came out on top! Due to the number of views the music video had on YouTube, Eclipse was one of four songs to receive a bye and automatically make it to Round 2. In Round 2, Eclipse faced #6 Egoist in what was a very close match from start to finish. I don't think more than 2 votes separated the two songs during the entire 24 hour voting period. With 3 minutes left in the poll (and I'm serious it was actually 3 minutes), Eclipse and Egoist were tied at 37 votes each and were set to go to overtime. But Eclipse received one last-minute vote, and it won 38-37. In the Semifinals, Eclipse faced #7 Love Cherry Motion, which had surprisingly upset #2 Singing In The Rain in the previous round. Eclipse defeated #7 Love Cherry Motion easily, 29-15. In the Championship, Eclipse faced #1 Heart Attack, a song that had reached 50 votes in both of the previous two rounds. But Eclipse got out to an early lead, and managed to hold on as Heart Attack slowly but surely made it a close match by the end. The final score was 23-20. FUTURE PLANS The next tournament I plan on doing after this is the Pledis GG Tournament, which will include 16-24 songs by After School, Orange Caramel, Pristin, and Pristin V (still working on which ones to include). After that will be the Mamamoo Tournament, and it will only include their title tracks. After that I'm not too sure yet. I still want to do the Red Velvet Discography Tournament and the SNSD Tournament, and a 2018 Recap Tournament will happen eventually as well (probably December/January, although I might start that one earlier and do it in chunks because it's gonna be fairly large). Oooh Eclipse! The title that put LOONA on the map. The song NASA put on their playlist. I'm glad, really. I wish Kim Lip could see this. Even though we're just a small fraction, it'd be good to see her song being recognized as the best, after all she expressed before about how nervous she was for being the first member to show a different concept and sound of LOONA.
You're the second one who said they would've voted for Heart Attack I think there were a lot of people who missed the championship. I mean, Eclipse had been getting 30+ votes per poll and Heart Attack got 50 twice, yet the championship was only 23-20. Maybe in the future I'll extend the time for the championship to 36 or 48 hours to make sure less people miss it.
