I choose japan cuz I can't live with out anime but I can live with out kpop

I honestly don't know the actual situation or cuz of the tension between the two countries but hope they make up somehow .

Korea, I don't know the political side to it all... but if I had to pick on what place to live in, it would definitely be Korea.

Some people won't admit it but our interests definitely play a big factor in our political views. So yeah... Japan all the way.

Japanese government needs to sincerely apologize to South Korea and actually educate the japanese students about their history... That being said, Japan has a lot of things that interest me more than that of Korea.

I know right. I have been exploring the jpop music scene. And its much more diverse then the korean music scene. I like that its not dominated only by idol groups.

It's not just jpop... A whole jrock and baby metal scene out there... Anyone who's into such genres, Japan is a literal heaven... I wish jrock was as popular globally as kpop is

I know I just checked out baby metal today and I totally freaked out. Lol
If there was a korean version of baby metal, i dont think it would work out. I think the big3 have more privelages of trying out something similar to that . Especially SM entertainment. I think Idol groups are getting boring, we need something fresh and new.

Ah i remember when everyone wanted Kpop to be global but now a lot of them are complaining, maybe kinda selfish but things are more interesting when not a lot of people knows about them, kinda like a little secret

But I think that a lot of the kpop industry is limited to idol groups
And idol groups are the IT nowadays, and when a certain part of the genre is popular its easier to get more access to them( which is idol groups nowadays)
You hardly hear from any soloists(other then the ones In the popular groups) so as a result the industry looks oversaturated, which makes things boring.
Whilt the Japanese music industry has ten times more variety, with ten times more fans of each genre. A whole country of Japan, which consists of millions of fans of each genre is almost equivilant to the amount of fans kpop has worldwide.

Now imagine if a jpop group had similar fame to BTS. It basically be 'bye bye money' for a lot of kpop companies. Because a jpop group from the 2nd biggest market would be snatching all the attention, now just add that with western fame, the jpop market would shoot up to number one in the world.

I do want j industry to become bigger, because its much more diverse then kpop.

Beautiful diversity, i get it it's only fair to want the best or the original objectively to win and get the credit it deserves yet dont you think something will change when their platform become super mainstream? You will have more fans around the world and each of them want smt different so their's a high chance with the craze over the fame and the money jpop would become as saturated anf limited like kpop over time (??)

Yeah. The japanese industry would probabely start pumping out more groups and rock groups and all types of stuff, which could lead to decline in quality and just turn in to a money making factory. But then uts hard for a whole industry to become popular right?

Well yeah it's a win-lose situation, and most of my judgements regarding that topic are from my own experience/perspective. A lot of artists (not necessarily kpop) which i still like or don't anymore made changes with mainstream fame and i get it,they gotta care more about the gp and their image overall instead of putting whatever music they actually like. They gotta be some changes but it doesn't mean their won't any be good music ig

Yeah some jpop stars nowadays seem to have a few mainstream songs. But I see no harm in expansion.
