    Today I'll teach you about my favourite vocalist of all times, Lee Jinki - or just Onew







    NESSUN DORMA - PERFORMANCE

    In 2014 he performed an Opera song called Nessun Dorma from the iconic Giacomo Puccini's "Turandot" - and yes, Onew sang it in Italian without knowing the language before the preparing this performance. I'm not an opera singer, or a singer by any means, but I am italian and I speak italian everyday (lmao obv) , I also watched the "Turandot" live multiple times - and believe me when I say that his delivery and dictation of Onew's was AMAZING - I've always known about Jinki being able to emulate the various pronunciations, but this performance is otherworldly!

    I also have heard various vocal coaches opinions about this performance and they were all amazed by Onew's vocal delivery of the song since he is a pop singer, (not a classical singer) but he managed to make the piece contemporary and perfect for his vocal timbre.


    I will also say that Onew still holds the record for the longest high-note of Kpop (40mins)

    I feel like most kpop ballads are done with those breathy tones or thin voices - Onew's tone in Blue, on the other hand, is deep, full and rich ^^

    Watched it. It was beautiful and he pulled it off perfectly. He adjusted it to his singing and made a beautiful rendition of the song. Loved it.
