J-Horror were supreme before K-Horror came. Now, most of their horror movies are more like slapstick and parody versions of what they did before. It was J-Horror movies that brought me to K-Horror eventually. I still watch Ringu every year.
I agree, I love older Japanese horror movies. Less special effects, but perfect, dark atmosphere, good acting, I was really shaking in bed watching them in the dark sometimes!
